Chapter 8: Bleached Black

Chapter 8 is a good time to consider changing jobs for your party members, as the early game grind for job levels is less efficient. While job-swapping immediately after Chapter 6's long series of fights might seem appealing, Chapter 7 offers a better window to start this process. Saeko, in particular, benefits greatly from an early switch to the Idol job class.

The job system allows Kasuga and his companions to learn new combat skills by changing their jobs. This can be done at Hello Work starting in mid-Chapter 5 by speaking with Ririka. Not all jobs are immediately available; some require characters to reach specific experience and bond levels. For Kasuga, certain jobs also demand particular attribute levels.

  • Job Mechanics:
    1. After a fight, characters earn both character EXP and job EXP.
    2. Job levels progress separately from character levels.
    3. Reaching certain job levels unlocks new job-specific techniques or permanent stat boosts.
    4. Most skills learned from job levels are only usable while the character is in that specific job.
    5. Each job provides two "Chara" skills that can be used regardless of the character's current job.

There are distinct job sets for male and female characters. Additionally, every character possesses at least one unique job that no other character can use; Kasuga has two such jobs.
