Welcome to "Spiky Stroll," a level that introduces Yoshi to several prickly perils and clever platforming challenges. This guide will help you navigate the thorny terrain, defeat the new enemies, and uncover every hidden collectible to achieve 100% completion.

Level Overview and New Hazards

This level's primary theme revolves around Spiky Plants (also known as Piranha Plants in other Mario titles, but here they are distinctly woolly and stationary) and other sharp obstacles. These plants will damage Yoshi on contact, so careful timing and yarn ball throws are essential. You'll also encounter your first Spiny enemies, small, red, spiky creatures that patrol platforms. They can be defeated with a stomp if you land on their head, or more safely with a yarn ball.

Detailed Walkthrough and Collectible Locations

Section 1: The Initial Spiky Path

The level begins with a straightforward path. Immediately, you'll see your first Spiky Plant. Jump over it or use a yarn ball to temporarily incapacitate it.

Smiley Flower 1: After the first Spiky Plant, you'll encounter a small gap. Above this gap, a visible cloud floats. Jump and tongue-grab the cloud, or throw a yarn ball at it, to reveal and collect the first Smiley Flower.
Wonder Wool 1: Continue past the first Smiley Flower. You'll soon see a series of three Spiky Plants in a row, with a small platform between the second and third. Above the middle Spiky Plant, there's an invisible cloud. Jump or throw a yarn ball directly above this plant to reveal the cloud, which contains the first Wonder Wool.

Proceed, dealing with a few more Spiky Plants and a patrolling Spiny. Remember, Spinies can be defeated by stomping on their heads or by throwing a yarn ball.

Section 2: Rotating Platforms and Hidden Passages

You'll soon reach an area featuring rotating platforms. These platforms spin in a circular motion, requiring precise timing for jumps. Don't rush!

Smiley Flower 2: As you navigate the first set of rotating platforms, look for a platform that moves up and down. To the right of this platform, slightly above it, is another invisible cloud. Hit it with a yarn ball or a well-timed jump to reveal the second Smiley Flower.
Wonder Wool 2: After the rotating platforms, you'll land on a solid ground section. To your immediate right, before the next set of hazards, there's a wall made of unravelable yarn. Unravel this section using a yarn ball to reveal a hidden alcove containing the second Wonder Wool.

Continue forward, dealing with more Spinies and Spiky Plants. You'll reach a small pit with a single rotating platform above it.

Section 3: The Mid-Level Checkpoint and Bonus Area

After a short sequence of jumping over Spiky Plants, you'll reach the first Checkpoint Flag. Hit it to save your progress.

Smiley Flower 3: Immediately after the Checkpoint Flag, you'll see a green Warp Pipe. Enter this pipe to access a bonus area. Inside, you'll find a bounty of beads and the third Smiley Flower floating prominently in the center. Collect all the beads for extra lives! Exit the bonus area via the pipe on the right.

Upon exiting the bonus area, you'll be back on the main path. You'll encounter a few more Spiky Plants and a Winged Cloud. Hit the Winged Cloud to reveal a handful of beads.

Section 4: The Elevated Path and Poochy's Appearance

This section features an elevated path with several Spiky Plants and Spinies. Take your time and clear the path.

Wonder Wool 3: As you progress along the elevated path, you'll notice a small platform below the main path, accessible by dropping down. On this lower platform, to the left, is a hidden area behind a yarn wall. Unravel this wall with a yarn ball to find the third Wonder Wool.
Poochy: After collecting Wonder Wool 3, continue along the lower path. You'll soon spot Poochy, the loyal dog, running around. Jump on his back to collect him and earn some extra beads.
Smiley Flower 4: After the section with Poochy, you'll come across a series of platforms that fall when Yoshi stands on them. Carefully cross these. The fourth Smiley Flower is located directly above the third falling platform. Time your jump carefully to grab it before the platform disappears.

After the falling platforms, you'll encounter a few more Spiky Plants guarding the path.

Section 5: The Final Stretch and Hidden Secrets

You're nearing the end of the level. This area features more Spiky Plants and a few Winged Clouds. hit all Winged Clouds you see, as they often contain beads or hearts.

Wonder Wool 4: Before reaching the final Warp Pipe, you'll see a tall stack of blocks with a Spiky Plant on top. To the right of this stack, there's a seemingly solid wall. Throw a yarn ball at the upper-right portion of this wall to reveal a hidden passage. Follow this passage to find the fourth Wonder Wool.
Smiley Flower 5: After collecting Wonder Wool 4, continue along the main path. Just before the final Warp Pipe, there's a large Spiky Plant. Above and slightly to the right of this plant, an invisible cloud hides the final Smiley Flower.
Wonder Wool 5: Enter the final Warp Pipe. You'll be transported to a small area just before the Goal Ring. Instead of immediately jumping to the Goal Ring, look to the left. There's a section of the wall that can be unraveled with a yarn ball. Unravel it to reveal a secret room containing the fifth and final Wonder Wool for this level. Collecting this will complete the Yoshi pattern for this stage!

Once you've collected all the Wonder Wools and Smiley Flowers, head to the right and jump through the Goal Ring to complete the level. collect any remaining Stamp Patches by hitting the small clouds above the Goal Ring!

Tips for Success

Yarn Ball Management: Always try to have a full stock of yarn balls (up to five). Eat enemies like Spinies to convert them into yarn balls.
Patience with Spiky Plants: These enemies are stationary but dangerous. Either jump over them with careful timing or use a yarn ball to temporarily stun them, allowing you to pass safely.
Explore Every Nook: Many secrets in Yoshi's Woolly World are hidden behind unravelable walls or in invisible clouds. If an area looks suspicious or empty, try throwing a yarn ball around or jumping.
