He will be sitting down and will have a distinct appearance. Simply walk up to him and press 'A' to initiate dialogue. He will impart the knowledge of the Shield spell upon you. Once learned, the spell will appear in your magic menu, accessible by pressing 'Start' and navigating to the magic tab.
