Crafting & Alchemy System
The crafting and alchemy system in A Plague Tale: Requiem is essential for Amicia's survival, allowing her to create vital tools and alchemical concoctions on the fly. Managing your resources and understanding what each item does is crucial.
Resource Gathering: Throughout the game world, you will find various crafting materials. Keep an eye out for herbs, rags, alcohol, sulfur, and other components. These are often found in crates, on tables, or scattered on the ground. Some enemies may also drop useful items upon defeat.
Crafting Menu: You can access the crafting menu at almost any time by holding down the designated button. This menu displays all the items you can currently craft based on the materials you possess. Prioritize crafting essential items like healing salves and ammunition.
Alchemical Ammunition: Amicia's sling can be loaded with various alchemical projectiles. These are crafted using specific combinations of materials:
- is (Fire): Crafted with alcohol and sulfur. Used to ite flammable objects, burn away rat swarms, and damage enemies.
- Extinguis (Water): Crafted with alcohol and rags. Used to extinguish fires, creating paths through flames or revealing hidden areas.
- Salt: Crafted with sulfur and rags. Used to repel rats, creating temporary safe zones within swarms.
- Poison: Crafted with alcohol and herbs. Used to create toxic clouds that can incapacitate or kill enemies.
Upgrades: As you progress, you will find workbenches that allow you to upgrade Amicia's gear and sling. These upgrades can increase your carrying capacity for materials, improve the effectiveness of your alchemical concoctions, or unlock new crafting recipes. Prioritize upgrades that al with your preferred playstyle.
Quick Crafting: For frequently used items like healing salves or basic ammunition, you can often perform quick crafts directly from the radial menu, saving valuable time in tense situations.
