Stealth is paramount in A Plague Tale: Requiem. Direct confrontation with heavily armed soldiers or overwhelming rat swarms is often a death sentence. Mastering Amicia's stealth and evasion techniques will be key to your survival.

Utilizing Cover: The environment is your greatest ally. Always be aware of your surroundings and use tall grass, crates, barrels, and shadows to break line of sight with enemies. Move slowly and deliberately when in cover to avoid detection.

Distraction: Throwing rocks or empty bottles can create noise distractions, drawing guards away from their patrols and creating openings for you to sneak past. Experiment with different throwing distances and angles to lure enemies to specific locations.

Silent Takedowns: When an enemy is isolated and unaware, you can perform a silent takedown. Approach them from behind and press the designated button. This is a crucial tool for thinning enemy numbers without raising an alarm.

Awareness Meter: Keep an eye on the enemy awareness meter, usually displayed above their heads. A white meter indicates they are unaware, yellow means they are suspicious and investigating, and red sifies they have spotted you and are actively searching.

Evasion: If detected, your primary goal is to break line of sight and hide. Sprint to the nearest cover and remain still. Enemies will eventually lose interest if they cannot find you. Sometimes, you may need to use Hugo's abilities to create a diversion or a path through a rat swarm to escape.

Rat Swarm Avoidance: While not strictly stealth, avoiding rat swarms is a form of evasion. Learn to identify safe paths through infested areas, often illuminated by light sources. If you must traverse a swarm, utilize your sling and alchemical tools to create temporary safe passages.
