Stupefacio Crafting & Uses
Stupefacio is a vital alchemical concoction in Amicia's arsenal, designed to temporarily incapacitate enemies and create crucial openings for stealth or escape. Mastering its crafting and strategic deployment is essential for navigating the perilous environments of A Plague Tale: Requiem.
To craft Stupefacio, Amicia requires two primary ingredients: Saltpeter and Sulfur. These are relatively common materials found throughout the game's various chapters, often in crates, barrels, or scattered on the ground in combat arenas and exploration zones.
The crafting process itself is initiated through the quick-crafting menu, accessible by holding down the designated button during gameplay. Amicia can prepare a limited number of Stupefacio charges based on her current inventory. It's highly recommended to keep at least a few charges ready at all times, especially when anticipating combat encounters or navigating heavily patrolled areas.
The primary use of Stupefacio is to throw it at enemies. Upon impact, it creates a blinding flash and a cloud of acrid smoke, disorienting any soldiers caught within its radius. This disorientation lasts for a short but significant period, allowing Amicia to:
- Perform stealth takedowns: A stunned enemy is an easy target for a silent kill.
- Escape dangerous situations: If overwhelmed, a well-placed Stupefacio can provide the breathing room needed to break line of sight and reposition.
- Create distractions: Throwing Stupefacio near a group of guards can draw their attention away from Amicia's intended path.
- Disable specific threats: It can be particularly effective against armored soldiers who are otherwise difficult to approach directly.
While Stupefacio doesn't directly harm enemies, its tactical advantage is immense. It's a tool that rewards foresight and planning, turning potentially deadly encounters into manageable challenges.
