Tar: Crafting & Uses
Tar is a highly flammable alchemical substance that, when combined with fire, creates a potent area-of-effect hazard in A Plague Tale: Requiem. It is particularly effective against groups of enemies and can be used to control the battlefield.
Crafting Tar
Tar is crafted using Alcohol and Sulfur. It is a relatively common crafting recipe, making it a reliable option for dealing with multiple threats simultaneously.
- Ingredients: Alcohol + Sulfur
Uses of Tar
Tar's effectiveness lies in its ability to create widespread fire hazards:
- Area Denial: When Tar is thrown and ited (usually with ifer), it creates a large pool of burning liquid. This area becomes impassable for enemies, forcing them to find alternate routes or suffer damage.
- Crowd Control: Tar is excellent for dealing with groups of enemies. By iting a Tar pool, you can damage and disorient multiple foes at once, creating openings for Amicia to attack or escape.
- Environmental Traps: You can strategically place Tar on the ground and then ite it when enemies are near, creating effective traps. This is especially useful in choke points or narrow corridors.
- Combating Rats: While not its primary use, burning Tar can also deter rats from entering an area, providing a temporary safe zone.
- Destroying Obstacles: In some instances, burning Tar can be used to destroy flammable obstacles or clear paths.
Always ensure you have a good supply of Alcohol and Sulfur to craft Tar. Its ability to control large groups of enemies and create hazardous zones makes it a valuable asset for both stealth and direct combat scenarios in A Plague Tale: Requiem.
