Resources are the backbone of your civilization: Food, Wood, Gold, and Favor. Food is gathered from hunting animals, farming, or fishing, and is primarily used for training Villagers, military units, and advancing ages. Wood is harvested from trees and is crucial for constructing most buildings and some siege units. Gold is mined from gold mines and is vital for advanced units, technologies, and trading. Favor is unique to each mythology and is gained differently (e.g., building Temples for Greeks, praying at Monuments for Egyptians, fighting for Norse, building Manors for Atlanteans). Favor is used to summon Myth Units and activate powerful God Powers.

Efficient resource gathering means keeping your Villagers constantly working. Avoid idle Villagers at all costs. Build drop-off points (Storehouses, Lumber Camps, Mining Camps) close to resource patches to minimize travel time. As your population grows, ensure you have a balanced economy to support your military and technological advancements. Don't over-invest in one resource at the expense of another, as this can lead to bottlenecks in your production.
