Core Terms

  • Sus: Short for "suspicious." Used to describe a player whose behavior is questionable or makes them seem like a potential Impostor.
  • Vent: A hidden passage used by Impostors to quickly move around the map undetected. Crewmates cannot use vents.
  • Visual Task: A task that has a visible animation that other You can see, confirming You is a Crewmate. Examples include MedBay Scan, Trash Ejection, and Shields Prime.
  • Sabotage: Actions taken by Impostors to disrupt the Crewmates, such as shutting down lights, closing doors, or initiating a reactor meltdown or O2 depletion.
  • Emergency Meeting: A meeting called by a player using the emergency button in the Cafeteria or Meeting Room. Used to discuss suspicions and vote.
  • Report: When a player discovers a dead body and reports it, triggering a meeting.
  • Kill Cooldown: The timer Impostors must wait after a kill before they can kill again.
  • Task Bar: A bar at the top of the screen that fills up as Crewmates complete tasks. When full, Crewmates win.
  • Impostor: The player(s) tasked with eliminating Crewmates and sabotaging the ship/base without being caught.
  • Crewmate: The majority of players, whose goal is to complete all tasks or identify and vote out all Impostors.

Meeting & Discussion Terms

  • Skip Vote: Choosing not to vote for any player during a meeting.
  • Clear: When a player is confirmed to be innocent, often by completing a visual task or being vouched for by multiple trusted players.
  • Vouch: To confirm another player's innocence based on personal observation.
  • Stack Kill: When multiple players are standing on top of each other, and an Impostor kills one, making it difficult to identify the killer.
  • Third Impostor: A common suspicion that there is another Impostor among the players, even if only one has been confirmed.
  • Self-Report: When an Impostor kills someone and immediately reports the body to try and deflect suspicion.
  • Alibi: A reason or evidence that proves a player was elsewhere and could not have committed a murder.

Advanced & Role-Specific Terms (May vary with custom roles)

  • Admin Table: A console that shows the location of players on the map.
  • Vitals: A console that shows the status (alive or dead) of all players.
  • Security Cameras: Cameras that allow players to monitor specific areas of the map.
  • Engineer: A Crewmate role that can use vents.
  • Scientist: A Crewmate role that can check vitals at any time.
  • Guardian Angel: A role that can protect living Crewmates after death.
  • Shapeshifter: An Impostor role that can temporarily change their appearance to match another player.
