As you settle into your new island life, one of your earliest and most exciting milestones will be the construction of Nook's Cranny, your island's very own general store. This isn't just a shop; it's a vital hub for buying and selling goods, upgrading your tools, and accessing a wider variety of items to customize your home and island. Unlocking it is a straightforward process that primarily involves gathering resources for Tom Nook's entrepreneurial nephews, Timmy and Tommy.
To get Nook's Cranny up and running, you'll need to complete a few initial tasks for Tom Nook. Once you've paid off your initial tent loan (5,000 Nook Miles) and upgraded to a house, Timmy and Tommy will approach you with their grand plans. They'll ask for your help in gathering the necessary materials to build their store. Here's what you'll need to collect:
- 30 pieces of Wood: Found by chopping trees with an axe.
- 30 pieces of Hardwood: Also found by chopping trees with an axe.
- 30 pieces of Softwood: Yet again, found by chopping trees with an axe.
- 30 pieces of Iron Nuggets: Obtained by hitting rocks with a shovel or axe. Each rock can yield up to 8 items per day, so hit them repeatedly!
Once you've gathered all the materials, deliver them to Timmy. The next day, Nook's Cranny will be open for business, offering a rotating selection of furniture, tools, seeds, and more. This sificantly expands your options for island development and personal expression.
