Using Request Tickets and Calling Cards Effectively
Request Tickets and Calling Cards are invaluable tools in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp for managing your animal friendships, completing Stretch Goals, and gathering essential crafting materials. Understanding how and when to use them can significantly boost your progress.
What are Request Tickets?
Request Tickets are special items that allow you to immediately fulfill an animal's request, even if you don't have the requested item. This is incredibly useful for:
- Speeding up Friendship Levels: Each fulfilled request grants friendship points. Using a Request Ticket means instant points without the grind.
- Completing Timed Goals: If a daily or event goal requires you to fulfill a certain number of requests, Request Tickets can help you meet the quota quickly.
- Obtaining Specific Crafting Materials: Animals often reward you with crafting materials like cotton, steel, wood, or preserves. If you're short on a particular material, using a Request Ticket on an animal known to give that material can be a quick solution.
How to Use a Request Ticket:
- Locate an Animal: Visit any of the recreational areas (Breezy Hollow, Saltwater Shores, Sunburst Island, or Lost Lure Creek) or your campsite.
- Initiate Conversation: Tap on an animal to start a conversation.
- Check Requests: The animal will typically have a request for an item. If you don't have it, or simply want to use a ticket, look for the "Use Request Ticket" option.
- Confirm Use: Tap the option and confirm to instantly complete their request and receive your rewards.
What are Calling Cards?
Calling Cards allow you to summon any animal not currently present at a recreational area or your campsite to your current location. This is incredibly strategic for:
- Targeted Friendship Building: Need to level up a specific animal? Use a Calling Card to bring them to you and fulfill their requests.
- Completing Stretch Goals: Many Stretch Goals involve interacting with specific animals or fulfilling a certain number of requests from them. Calling Cards make these goals much more manageable.
- Optimizing Material Collection: If you know certain animals give specific crafting materials, you can use Calling Cards to bring them in rotation and gather those materials more efficiently.
How to Use a Calling Card:
- Navigate to a Recreational Area: Go to one of the four main recreational spots: Breezy Hollow, Saltwater Shores, Sunburst Island, or Lost Lure Creek. You cannot use Calling Cards at your campsite.
- Open the Contacts Menu: In the bottom right corner of the screen, tap the "Contacts" icon (usually represented by a thought bubble or speech bubble).
- Select an Animal: Browse your list of animals. Animals currently at your campsite or another recreational area will be greyed out or marked as "Busy." Choose an animal that is available.
- Summon the Animal: Tap on the desired animal's icon and select the "Use Calling Card" option.
- Confirm and Interact: The animal will immediately appear at your current location. You can then interact with them, fulfill their requests, and build your friendship!
Strategic Tips for Both Items:
- Prioritize High-Level Animals: When trying to reach max friendship levels, use Request Tickets on animals that are close to leveling up to get those extra rewards.
- Event Goals First: Always check current event goals. If an event requires specific interactions, prioritize using your tickets and cards to complete those for valuable event rewards.
- Material Shortages: If you're consistently low on a particular crafting material (e.g., you need a lot of steel for a specific furniture item), use Request Tickets on animals known to drop steel. Similarly, use Calling Cards to bring those animals into rotation more often.
- Don't Hoard Forever: While it's good to save some for emergencies, don't let your Request Tickets and Calling Cards sit unused indefinitely. They are meant to be used to enhance your gameplay.
- Observe Timers: When using a Calling Card, remember that the summoned animal will stay for a set duration, similar to naturally appearing animals. Try to use them when you have enough time to interact with them multiple times if needed.
