Post-Game Challenges
Congratulations, Captain! You've navigated the treacherous waters of the Caribbean, amassed a fortune, and seen Edward Kenway's journey through to its conclusion. But the adventure doesn't end there. Black Flag offers a wealth of post-game content designed to test your skills, expand your legend, and truly master the pirate's life. This section will guide you through the most rewarding challenges that await you after the credits roll.
Legendary Ship Hunts
The ultimate naval challenge awaits: the five Legendary Ships. These behemoths are significantly tougher than any Man O' War you've faced, requiring peak Jackdaw upgrades and expert sailing. Each ship has unique attack patterns and weaknesses. Prepare thoroughly before engaging!
- The HMS Prince (Kingston, coordinates 620, 172): This heavily armored frigate relies on powerful broadsides.
- Strategy: Stay close and circle, using your heavy shot and swivel guns to target its weak points after it fires. Be wary of its ramming attempts.
- La Dama Negra (Sertao, coordinates 200, 440): A stealthy, fast Man O' War that uses mortar fire extensively.
- Strategy: Close the distance quickly to avoid its devastating mortars. Once alongside, unleash chain shot to disable its sails, then pummel it with broadsides.
- El Impoluto (Cayo Island, coordinates 307, 195): An incredibly fast and aggressive Man O' War that loves to ram.
- Strategy: This is arguably the toughest. Keep your distance initially, using mortars and chase cannons. When it charges, brace for impact and counter with heavy shot as it passes.
- The Brothers-in-Arms (Southern Twin Islands, coordinates 871, 808): Two powerful frigates, the HMS Fearless and the HMS Defiant, that attack in tandem.
- Strategy: Focus fire on one ship to sink it quickly, reducing the incoming damage. Use chain shot to immobilize one while you destroy the other. Mortars are excellent for crowd control.
Reward: Defeating all five Legendary Ships grants you the "Devil of the Caribbean" achievement/trophy and a significant amount of Reales, along with bragging rights.
