Freedom Cry DLC

Step into the shoes of Adewale, Edward Kenway's first mate, in this standalone adventure. Freedom Cry introduces a new map, story, and a distinct set of collectibles and activities centered around liberating slaves and fighting for freedom.

Slave Liberation Activities

Adewale's primary objective is to free enslaved people. These activities are crucial for progressing the story and upgrading your ship, the Experto Crede.

  • Slave Escorts: You'll encounter groups of slaves being marched by guards. Eliminate the guards discreetly or head-on, then escort the freed slaves to a safe house. Be mindful of patrols and avoid causing too much commotion, as it can alert more guards.
  • Plantation Raids: Infiltrate plantations where slaves are forced to work. These often involve stealthily eliminating overseers, destroying slave quarters to prevent future enslavement, and freeing the workers. Look for opportunities to use environmental hazards or blend into the crowd for easier access.
  • Slave Ship Interceptions: On the open seas, you'll spot slave ships. Engage them in naval combat, disable their movement, and then board to free the captives. Prioritize taking out gunners and then focus on the captain to secure the ship.
  • Auction Disruptions: Occasionally, you'll find slave auctions taking place in towns. Disrupt these events by eliminating the auctioneer and any guards present. This often requires a more direct approach, so be prepared for a fight.

Reward: Liberating slaves earns you "Slaves Freed" currency, which is essential for purchasing ship upgrades for the Experto Crede and unlocking new abilities for Adewale. Aim to free all 700 slaves for full synchronization and powerful upgrades.

Maroon Hideouts
