Outfits & Armor
Beyond mere aesthetics, Ezio's attire in Assassin's Creed Revelations can offer significant advantages, from increased stealth to enhanced protection. This section details how to acquire and use the various outfits and armor sets available in Constantinople and beyond.
Armor Sets: Protection and Durability
Armor in Revelations provides a direct benefit to Ezio's survivability. Each piece contributes to his overall health bar, allowing him to withstand more damage before desynchronizing. Unlike previous titles, armor in Revelations does not degrade and does not require repairs. Once purchased, it's a permanent upgrade.
Purchasable Armor
The primary method for acquiring armor is through Tailor Shops scattered across Constantinople. As you progress through the main story sequences, more advanced and protective armor pieces will become available for purchase. Always prioritize upgrading your armor when possible, especially before tackling challenging missions or Borgia Tower assaults.
- Basic Leather Armor: Available early in Sequence 2. Offers minimal protection but is a crucial first step. Look for the Tailor Shop icon on your map (a spool of thread).
- Reinforced Leather Armor: Becomes available after progressing further into Sequence 3. A solid upgrade from the basic set, offering better defense.
- Plate Armor: Typically unlocks around Sequence 4 or 5. This set provides substantial protection, making Ezio much more resilient in combat.
- Master Assassin Armor: The pinnacle of purchasable protection. This highly durable set becomes available in later sequences (around Sequence 6 or 7) and offers the best defense a Tailor can provide. It's a significant investment but well worth the cost for its robust protection.
Isabelle's Armor
This unique armor set is acquired through a specific side quest chain. While not the most protective, it offers a distinct visual style.
- Acquisition: Complete the "Isabelle's Folly" side quest line. This series of missions involves helping a local artisan. Keep an eye out for the side quest marker (a white diamond with an exclamation mark) in the Galata district.
- Benefits: Primarily cosmetic, but completing the quest line also contributes to your overall synchronization.
Master Assassin's Armor (Altaïr's Armor)
This is the most powerful armor set in the game, offering unparalleled protection and a distinct look. It is not purchased but earned through dedication.
- Acquisition: To unlock Altaïr's Armor, you must retrieve all five Masyaf Keys. These keys are found by completing the "Desmond's Journey" sequences, which are unlocked by collecting Animus Data Fragments.
- Masyaf Key 1: Complete Desmond's Journey 1.
- Masyaf Key 2: Collect 10 Animus Data Fragments and complete Desmond's Journey 2.
- Masyaf Key 3: Collect 20 Animus Data Fragments and complete Desmond's Journey 3.
- Masyaf Key 4: Collect 30 Animus Data Fragments and complete Desmond's Journey 4.
- Masyaf Key 5: Collect 40 Animus Data Fragments and complete Desmond's Journey 5.
- Benefits: Provides the highest possible defense rating, making Ezio incredibly durable. It also grants a permanent health regeneration bonus, allowing Ezio to recover health more quickly in combat.
Outfits: Style and Stealth
Outfits in Assassin's Creed Revelations are primarily cosmetic, allowing you to change Ezio's appearance. While they don't offer direct combat benefits like armor, some can subtly enhance your role-playing experience or provide a nostalgic touch.
Default Outfits
- Ezio's Robes: The iconic Assassin robes Ezio wears throughout most of the game.
- Old Ezio: Available from the start, this outfit depicts Ezio as he appears in the opening sequences, with a slightly more weathered look.
Unlockable Outfits
These outfits offer several appearances, from historical accuracy to playful nods.
- Altaïr's Robes: Relive the glory days of the first Assassin!
- Acquisition: Complete the main story campaign (Sequence 9). Once the credits roll, this outfit will be available in Ezio's hideout.
- Location: Access your hideout, interact with the mannequin, and select the outfit.
- Desmond Miles: Play as Desmond in the Animus simulation.
- Acquisition: Complete all five Desmond's Journey sequences. This means collecting all 100 Animus Data Fragments and finishing all five platforming challenges.
- Location: Available in Ezio's hideout after meeting the requirements.
- Turkish Assassin Outfit: A unique, culturally inspired outfit.
- Acquisition: This outfit is a reward for completing all the "Faction Challenges" for the Assassin's Guild. These challenges involve recruiting and leveling up Assassins, sending them on missions, and completing specific tasks related to the guild.
- Location: Once unlocked, find it in Ezio's hideout.
- Ishak Pasha's Armor: While technically an armor set, it functions more like a unique outfit due to its acquisition method and distinct appearance.
- Acquisition: Collect all 100 Animus Data Fragments scattered across Constantinople. Once all fragments are found, a secret tomb will be revealed. Enter and complete the platforming challenge within Ishak Pasha's Tomb to claim this outfit.
- Benefits: Offers a high level of protection, comparable to the Master Assassin Armor, and a very distinctive, imposing look.
Changing Outfits and Armor
To change Ezio's outfit or armor, you must visit his hideout. In Constantinople, this is located in the Galata district. Inside, you'll find a mannequin. Interact with it to open the customization menu, where you can select any unlocked armor piece or outfit.
- Step 1: Locate Ezio's hideout on your map (a house icon).
- Step 2: Enter the hideout.
- Step 3: Find the mannequin in the main room.
- Step 4: Interact with the mannequin (usually by pressing the action button).
- Step 5: Browse the available armor pieces and outfits and select your desired choice.
Remember that armor and outfits are separate. You can mix and match armor pieces (head, chest, shoulders, arms, legs) from different sets if you wish, though wearing a complete set often provides the best aesthetic. Outfits, however, are full-body changes.
