Armor provides crucial protection in combat. Your class determines your armor proficiencies, and wearing armor you're not proficient in can impose disadvantage on attack rolls and spellcasting.
Armor Types
- Light Armor: Highest Dexterity bonus to AC (e.g., Leather Armor).
- Medium Armor: Moderate Dexterity bonus to AC (e.g., Scale Mail, Half Plate).
- Heavy Armor: No Dexterity bonus, highest base AC (e.g., Plate Armor).
- Shields: Provide additional AC.
