Act 2: The Shadow-Cursed Lands

Welcome to Act 2 of Baldur's Gate 3, set in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. This part of the walkthrough focuses on the main story campaign, including all sidequests, companion quests, and collectibles within this region. You will navigate through cursed landscapes and encounter new challenges as you progress towards Moonrise Towers.

One notable quest in this area is "Hide and Seek," which can be completed by interacting with Oliver at the House with Flowers. The reward for this quest can also be obtained by knocking Oliver out or through pick-pocketing at the exact moment the encounter becomes a tactical turn-based encounter, before he vanishes, or if you can see invisible creatures.

Collectibles and items of interest in the Shadow-Cursed Lands include:

  • A Gilded Chest in the southeast portion of the Ruined Battlefield (X: 80 Y: -96), near an ambush of Shadow-Cursed Needle Blights and Shadow-Cursed Vine Blights.
  • The Strange Ox, which can be found in the Druid Grove or later at Dammon's blacksmith in the Last Light Inn. Killing the Strange Ox will prevent completion of the "Help the Devilish Ox" quest.
  • Items carried by Zevlor in the Druid Grove, which can be bought, stolen, or earned as a reward for "Investigate Kagha."
  • The Pale Oak staff, awarded for completing the quest "Investigate Kagha" by persuading and sparing Kagha before "Rescue the Druid Halsin." This reward is only given if your character is a druid.
  • Rewards from Counsellor Florrick for rescuing her from the burning inn of Waukeen's Rest during "Rescue the Grand Duke." You can choose between The Sparky Points, The Joltshooter, and The Spellsparkler.
  • Components for the Icy Helve, Icy Metal, and Icy Crystal, carried by three Drow mages in various Underdark locations. The Icy Helve is with Dhourn west of the Selûnite Outpost, Icy Metal is looted from the Pale Corpse in the Myconid Colony's secret area (X:50, Y:75) after completing "Defeat the Duergar Intruders," and the Icy Crystal is carried by Filro the Forgotten near the Sussur Tree.
