The quest "Find a Cure" begins at the Ravaged Beach. Your primary goal is to remove the Mind Flayer parasite. This overarching quest involves several key objectives, including infiltrating Moonrise Towers and confronting Ketheric Thorm.
Beginning the Quest
At the Ravaged Beach, you will find Shadowheart unconscious at X:271 Y:217. Interact with her, and you will have three dialogue options to choose from.
Key Objectives within "Find a Cure"
- Infiltrate Moonrise Towers: This is a major step in Act 2. It involves several sub-objectives:
- Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse (Underdark ver. or Mountain Pass ver.)
- Follow the Convoy
- Resolve the Abduction
- Exploring Moonrise Towers
- Find Ketheric Thorm's Relic
- Capture Isobel the Selunite Cleric
- Defeat Ketheric Thorm: This is the ultimate goal of the Act 2 storyline related to finding a cure.
Related Items and Rewards
- Amulet: Found in a chest near two Goblins at the entrance to an area. Taking it while they are alive is considered theft.
- Broken Spear: Combine the Shaft of a Broken Spear (from Edowin at X: 136, Y: 446) and the Head of a Broken Spear (from the Owlbear in the Owlbear Nest).
- Gilded Chest Loot: Found in the southeast portion of the Ruined Battlefield (X: 80 Y: -96), near Shadow-Cursed Needle Blights and Shadow-Cursed Vine Blights.
- Pale Oak: Reward for completing "Investigate Kagha" by persuading and sparing Kagha before "Rescue the Druid Halsin." Only awarded if you are a druid.
- Hide and Seek Quest Reward: Obtained from Oliver in the House with Flowers in the Shadow-Cursed Lands. Can also be acquired by knocking him out or pickpocketing him during a tactical turn-based encounter before he vanishes, or if you can see invisible creatures.
- Strange Ox Loot: Can be looted from the Strange Ox in the Druid Grove or at Dammon's blacksmith in the Last Light Inn. Killing the Strange Ox prevents completion of the "Help the Devilish Ox" quest.
- Zevlor's Wares: Zevlor in the Druid Grove carries items that can be bought, stolen, or earned as a reward for "Investigate Kagha."
