Flight Controls
ANALOG Stick: UP causes your Monkey to enter a dive, picking up speed while losing altitude. DOWN causes your Monkey to gain altitude at the cost of speed. LEFT and RIGHT move your Monkey in those directions (wind can affect this). When landing on a target, hold the opposite direction to fight momentum and stay in higher value sections.

Help Items
Help Items are collected by grabbing Bananas as you go towards the point targets on the water. Banana or Banana Bunch collection both move your meter one step up.
- Collecting a Banana adds 10 points to your score.
- Collecting a Banana Bunch adds 20 points to your score.
- Items are obtained in ascending order of Banana collection. After using an item, your Banana collection value resets to none collected.
- One Banana: "0 mph" item - removes wind for that round's launch.
- Two Bananas: "Brake Ball" item - your Monkey Ball will have very little roll once it lands on a target.
- Three Bananas: "Double Score" item - doubles the value of any target you land on.
- Four Bananas: "Magnet Ball" item - your Monkey Ball will immediately "stick" to the target where ever it hits (not true for the side of small yellow buoys).
- Five Bananas: "Triple Score" item - triples the value of any target you land on.
- Collecting past five Bananas cycles the item meter back down. For example, if you had three Bananas collected and get four more, you'll have seven total. The item meter overflows, and the additional two Bananas grant the Brake Ball option next turn.
Wheel Of Danger
This option adds extra dangers to the game. The Wheel of Danger has ten slots, and a spinner stops when the A Button is pressed. The stopped slot determines the effect on your current round's launch.
- Four slots: Blank - nothing happens.
- Two slots: Spiked Mines - floating Spiked Mines appear over target areas. Touching them reduces speed, altitude, and direction, but doesn't prevent landing on a target.
- Two slots: Big Bombs - a multitude of Bombs are sprinkled on target areas. Touching them throws the ball into the air and causes your monkey to twitch, potentially depositing you in an unintended area, though you can still land on the target.
- Two slots: Smoke Screens - Cloud banks appear over each target area, impeding vision until your Monkey draws very near the target platform.
Round One Targets
First Target: A large circular object with a 10-point ring around the perimeter. Inside this is a 20-point ring with four small 10-point depressions. Next is a 40-point ring with one 20-point depression and two 10-point depressions. Then a 50-point ring with three small 20-point depressions. The center is a very small spot worth 100 points.
Second Target: A shrunk down version of the first target.
