10.) Bosses

Master the boss fights against Fortitudo and Temperantia in Bayonetta. Learn their attack patterns, weaknesses, and strategies to emerge victorious.

Boss 1: Fortitudo

Fortitudo is a large dragon encountered multiple times, with this fight being to the death. The battle has three parts.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weak points are its heads and later, glowing cores on its body.
• Witch Time is crucial for maximizing damage during openings.

Phases:

1. Initial Encounter (Platform): Fortitudo has both heads. Attacks include fireballs, lunging bites, and tail swings. Dodge fireballs immediately. Use Witch Time on lunges. If caught in its mouth, rotate the left stick to break free and drop down. Attack its heads until stunned, then jump down and grab it (Y+B) for a slam attack.
2. Lower Level Combat: Fortitudo dives or swipes with its heads. Continue attacking heads. Fireballs are still present. After about 3/4 health is depleted, Fortitudo moves to the top of the Coliseum and uses a large fire beam. Find rubble with an hourglass to avoid lava. Jump across rocks to reach the top and grab Fortitudo to bring it down. Mash X to slam it three times and tear off the first head.
3. Second Head: Fortitudo returns to the top, spewing another lava beam. Use the hourglass on rubble to return to the higher platform. The lone head now spews two fireballs. Attack until stunned, then grab and attack. On the lower level, avoid attacks and grab the second head when it appears.
4. Final Phase (Timed): You have five minutes. Fortitudo rams the platform; attack when it does. Dodge spikes that emerge from the ground. It then shoots a light beam; dodge and resume attacking. Continue attacking until its health is depleted. Use Climax to finish the fight and earn an achievement.

Boss 2: Temperantia

Temperantia is a giant vacuum cleaner-like boss. You start on a small platform.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Weak points are its hands when gripping the platform, then glowing cores on its arms and body.
• Destroying cores disperses its head's shield.

Phases:

1. Arm Attacks: Temperantia punches or grabs the platform. If it grabs the platform, attack its hand. When the platform is destroyed, jump to another. You'll get an option to land on its arm. Run up the arm, avoiding projectiles, to a glowing core. Dodge blue spikes that form, then attack the core. Use Climax to tear off the arm.
2. Second Arm: Repeat the process for the second arm. Attack its hand while avoiding head projectiles. Land on its arm, attack the core, and use Climax.
3. Final Phase: Find and destroy remaining orbs on its body by following the energy source from its head. Dodge blue spikes near cores before attacking them. Once all orbs are destroyed, the shield around its head will break. Attack the head to finish the fight. It has three attacks: shooting several laser beams.
