Beat Saber bosses and powerups guide, including strategies for The Dark Evil Bad Spirit and where to find the Red Fire Icon.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Level 8 is short, involving flying through clouds and shooting statues for powerups. There is no boss on this level.
  2. 2
Level 9, the final area, can be seen as a factory or palace. You will start by dodging flying tiles; some can be hindered, but not all destroyed.
  3. 3
Prioritize destroying the small cannons. Avoid shooting flashing butterflies, as they contain skulls.
  4. 4
Laser lines blocking your path can be destroyed, as can those that shoot wide lasers.
  5. 5
Do not attempt to destroy the pillars that fall into place when entering the boss's chamber; they are indestructible.
  6. 6
The final showdown occurs in the gold hall.

Bosses:

  1. No Pinky and a Brain: Use ground fire to destroy the 3 pores on its body to prevent it from showering you with star brain things. When its eyelid opens, shoot it with ground fire until it attacks. Stay at the bottom of the screen, shooting and dodging.
  2. Crispy the Lava Dragon: If you have the Fire Icon Powerup, charge and shoot it to keep the energy on him for a few seconds, causing massive damage. Watch out for mini fireballs he emits between attacks.
  3. Queen of an Annoying Stage: Destroy any eye makers it produces and then shoot the top. Its attacks are easily dodged. Shooting off its egg sac would allow it free movement.
  4. The Little SKull Tree that Couldn't Move: Save shots to hit its open mouth, killing bats simultaneously. The Wing Icon powerup is useful here for quickly taking out bats. Stay at the bottom of the screen, moving left and right to avoid flailing branches.
  5. Spikey Little Fiend: Go around the rock swarms and shoot it. It will break apart. Fly into the inner circle of the rocks and shoot the main piece until it crumbles.
  6. Freezy the Ice Dragon: Shoot him as he moves in and out of wall holes. Watch out for occasional ice spikes.
  7. Innards Projectionist Dragon: Watch for ghost monsters and only use charged shots. Rapid fire will cause it to spew rocks that can kill you quickly.
  8. The Dark Evil Bad Spirit: This final boss shoots crescent moon bullets. You can only hurt it with charge shots when its neck ornament is on. When it's off, dodge other attacks and summoned creatures, including copies of yourself. Having a friend is beneficial as powerups may be depleted.

Powerups:

  • Red Powerup Icon: Found on all levels, increases the strength of your current fire type.
  • Blue Trident: Grants an extra head (up to 3) and cancels other firepower. Found on most levels.
  • Red Fire Icon: Allows a huge blast of energy and circular bullets when fully charged. Found only on stages 2 and 8.
  • Moon Icon: Shoots little half moons that attack enemies; the number depends on the power level. Found only on stages 6 and 8.
  • Electricity Icon: When charged, attacks all enemies on screen, but damage is minimal. First found on stages 4, 8, and 7.
  • Wing Icon: Makes charged shots and bullets cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) more distance, useful for taking out many enemies. Found on stages 3, 4, and 8.
  • S Icon: Provides a temporary shield that kills enemies.
  • Purple Icon: Believed to shrink you, making you less vulnerable.
Tips
  • In Level 9, avoid shooting flashing butterflies as they contain skulls.
  • The Red Fire Icon powerup is crucial for defeating Crispy the Lava Dragon quickly.
  • The Wing Icon powerup is helpful against The Little SKull Tree that Couldn't Move.
  • For The Dark Evil Bad Spirit, only use charged shots when its neck ornament is visible.
  • Having a friend can be advantageous for the final boss battle in Beat Saber.
