Spells are powerful abilities that can turn the tide of combat, such as the Immobilize spell which binds enemies in place. Spells consume your magic meter, which does not replenish automatically and requires resting at a Shrine. Stronger enemies and bosses may resist or quickly break free from spell effects.
Spells & Magic Meter
After depleting about half of a boss's health, such as the Bullguard, it may parry your attack and prepare a killing blow. At this point, the Keeper may intervene and use a spell to lock the creature in place. The Keeper will then pass this spell to you, granting you your first Spell, Immobilize.
The Immobilize spell allows you to bind an enemy in place for a few seconds, providing an opportunity to land attacks. Stronger enemies, like the Bullguard, will break free from the spell more quickly than regular enemies, and certain Bosses can entirely resist its effects. Once the Bullguard breaks free, the Keeper will disappear, requiring you to use this new ability to defeat the boss.
Be aware of the spell's cooldown and its consumption of your magic meter. Unlike your health, your magic meter cannot be replenished unless you rest at a Shrine.
