Initial Encounters & First Shrine

Learn the Immobilize spell in Black Myth: Wukong by defeating the Bullguard, mastering combat mechanics after the Erlang tutorial.

·Multi-source verified (48/48)

The game begins with a tutorial boss fight against Erlang, designed to teach combat mechanics and dodging. There is no health bar, indicating it's a practice encounter. After this, return to the forest hill road and take the right path to face the first mini-boss, Bullguard, and acquire the Immobilize spell.

Initial Encounters & First Shrine

  1. Tutorial Boss Fight (Erlang): Immediately after the opening cutscene, engage in a tutorial boss fight against Erlang. This encounter lacks a health bar, serving as an introduction to combat controls and dodging. Erlang uses straightforward spear techniques, including sweeping and thrusting attacks, with pauses that allow for dodge practice. The game emphasizes timed dodges over blocking.
  2. First Mini-Boss (Bullguard): After the tutorial, return to the forest hill road where you crossed the bridge. Take the right path to confront the Bullguard.
  3. Acquiring the Immobilize Spell: Once the Bullguard's health is approximately halved, he will parry your next attack. The Keeper intervenes, casting a spell to bind the Bullguard. The Keeper then grants you this spell, Immobilize. This spell temporarily binds enemies, creating openings for attacks. Stronger enemies, like the Bullguard, break free faster, and some bosses are immune. After the Keeper departs, use Immobilize, managing its cooldown and magic consumption, to defeat the Bullguard. Magic can only be replenished by resting at a Shrine.
