Embark on your journey through Sandgate Village, a key area in Black Myth: Wukong. This walkthrough guides you through the village's challenges, including enemy encounters, environmental navigation, and the discovery of important checkpoints and items. Upon arriving at Yellow Wind Ridge after Chapter 1, you'll witness a cutscene featuring a Headless Man playing a Sanxian. Following this, you'll find yourself on the ground, hit by arrows. The Headless Man offers assistance and advice before departing. Follow him towards a shallow river and proceed along the left bank. You will then encounter the Rat Governor, an enemy that utilizes powerful ranged electrical attacks. Engage it in melee to negate its advantage.

After dealing with the Rat Governor, collect Licorice below a toppled pillar. Progress by heading up the valley towards a withered tree. You may see an enemy in a river pit, which is best left for later. Follow the wooden path around the river pit and descend steps to the right. Here, you'll face a Rat Soldier and unlock the Village Entrance Shrine checkpoint. This Shrine is crucial for saving your progress and preparing for the next segment of your adventure. Further exploration might reveal more enemies and collectibles.
