When lakes and rivers freeze over, new opportunities for survival emerge. The primary tool for this activity is the Fishing Tackle, which can be crafted or found. You'll also need an Ice Fishing Hut or a suitable sheltered location to protect you from the elements while you fish.
To begin ice fishing, you'll need to locate a suitable ice fishing spot. Look for areas where ice fishing huts are present or where the ice appears stable. Once you've found a spot, you'll need to drill a hole in the ice. This can be done with a Fishing Spear or by finding pre-existing holes. Equip your Fishing Tackle and bait (often worms or small fish). Cast your line into the hole and wait patiently. The success rate and speed of catches can vary depending on the location, time of day, and weather conditions.
While fishing, it's essential to manage your warmth and fatigue. Fishing can be a passive activity, but the cold can still take its toll.
