Beginner's Progression Path
Welcome, Sensei, to the world of Blue Archive! This guide will walk you through the crucial early steps to ensure a strong foundation for your academy. Following these actionable steps will help you efficiently gather resources, strengthen your students, and tackle the challenges ahead.
Initial Setup & Reroll Strategy
Your journey begins with the tutorial and initial pulls. While not strictly necessary, a strong start can significantly ease early progression. Consider a "reroll" if you're aiming for specific powerful students right out of the gate.
- Tutorial Completion: Follow the in-game tutorial diligently. It introduces core mechanics like combat, student types, and basic facility management.
- First 10-Pull: After the tutorial, you'll get your first free 10-pull. This is where many Sensei decide whether to reroll.
- Reroll Targets: While personal preference plays a role, generally sought-after students for beginners include powerful damage dealers (e.g., Iori, Hoshino) or strong utility students. Consult community tier lists for the most up-to-date recommendations.
- Reroll Process: If you're unhappy with your initial pulls, you can usually reset your account data (often found in the game's settings or title screen) and repeat the tutorial and first 10-pull until you get a satisfactory outcome.
Main Story & Campaign Progression
The main story campaign is your primary source of experience, new students, and essential progression materials. Prioritize clearing these stages as far as you can.
- Chapter 1-3 Focus: Aim to clear the first three chapters of the main story as quickly as possible. These stages are relatively easy and unlock crucial game modes.
- Auto-Battle & 3-Starring: Once you've cleared a stage manually, use the auto-battle feature for efficient farming. Always strive to achieve a 3-star clear on each stage. This unlocks the "Sweep" function, allowing instant completion for resources without needing to play the battle.
- Student Synergy: Pay attention to your students' attack types (Explosive, Piercing, Mystic) and the enemy's defense types. Matching these effectively will make battles significantly easier. Your initial free students are often well-rounded enough for early chapters.
- Boss Encounters: For boss stages, focus fire on the boss with your strongest damage dealers. use EX Skills strategically to interrupt powerful enemy attacks or burst down targets.
Resource Management & Student Development
Efficiently managing your resources is key to strengthening your students and progressing smoothly.
Student Leveling
- Lesson & Activity Reports: Use "Lesson" to level up your students. Activity Reports (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) are the primary experience materials. You'll acquire these from campaign stages, daily missions, and the "Bounty" mode.
- Prioritize Core Team: Focus on leveling up a core team of 4-5 students first, rather than spreading resources too thin across your entire roster.
Equipment & Gear
- Gear Slots: Each student has three equipment slots. Gear provides significant stat boosts.
- Farming Gear: Early gear can be farmed from specific campaign stages. Look for stages that drop Tier 1 (T1) and Tier 2 (T2) gear relevant to your main damage dealers and tanks. For example, a student like Serina (Healer) might benefit from a Watch (HP/Heal Power), while a Striker like Shiroko might need a Hairpin (Attack).
- Enhancing Gear: Use "Enhancement Stones" to level up your gear. Prioritize enhancing gear for your main team.
Skills & EX Skills
- Skill Upgrades: Student skills can be upgraded using "Skill Materials" (Tactical Training Blu-rays, Technical Notes, etc.). These are obtained from "Commissions" and "Bounty."
- Prioritize EX Skills: EX Skills are the most impactful. Focus on upgrading the EX Skills of your main damage dealers and crucial support units first.
Unlocking & using Key Game Modes
As you progress through the main story, new game modes will unlock. These are vital for daily resource acquisition.
- Bounty (Unlocked Early): This mode provides Skill Materials and Activity Reports. Complete all available tiers daily for maximum rewards.
- Commissions (Unlocked Early): Similar to Bounty, Commissions offer several materials, including Skill Materials and credits. Clear these daily.
- Tactical Challenge (PVP, Unlocked at Account Level 15): Once unlocked, participate in Tactical Challenge. Even if you don't have a fully optimized team, challenging opponents and maintaining a rank will grant you Pyroxene and Tactical Coins daily. Use Tactical Coins in the shop to purchase valuable items like student Elephs or gear. Focus on building a balanced defensive team and an offensive team that can counter common setups.
- Schedules (Unlocked Early): Send students on Schedules to earn Affinity items and other resources. Prioritize students you want to raise Affinity with for their unique stories and stat bonuses.
- Café (Unlocked Early): The Café generates AP (Stamina) and Credits over time. Upgrade your Café facilities using "Café Furniture" to increase its efficiency. Collect your rewards regularly.
Daily Routine Checklist
Establishing a daily routine will ensure consistent progress.
