Primary weapons are your main source of offense in Call of Duty 3. Each type excels in different combat scenarios.

Rifles
- M1 Garand (American): A semi-automatic rifle with good accuracy and stopping power. Excellent for medium-range engagements. Its 'ping' sound when empty is iconic.
- Lee-Enfield (British/Canadian): A bolt-action rifle, highly accurate and powerful for long-range precision shots. Slower rate of fire requires careful aiming.
- Kar98k (German): The German equivalent of the Lee-Enfield, a powerful bolt-action rifle. Often equipped with a scope by enemy snipers.
- Gewehr 43 (German): A semi-automatic German rifle, similar in function to the M1 Garand but often with a slightly different feel.
Submachine Guns (SMGs)
- Thompson (American): A classic SMG with a high rate of fire and decent accuracy at close to medium range. Good for clearing rooms.
- Sten (British/Canadian): A compact SMG with a high rate of fire, excellent for close-quarters combat. Less accurate at longer ranges.
- MP40 (German): The standard German SMG, offering a good balance of fire rate and control for close-to-medium engagements.
Automatic Rifles
- Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR) (American/Polish): A heavy automatic rifle with a large magazine and significant stopping power. Excellent for suppressing enemies and providing heavy fire support.
Always consider the engagement distance and your current objective when choosing or picking up a primary weapon. An SMG is great for clearing buildings, but a rifle is better for open fields.
