Navigating the Den of Darkness

Upon entering the Den of Darkness, you'll find yourself in a dimly lit, winding cave system. The primary objective is to defeat all the powerful Lost scattered throughout the map to unlock the boss encounter. Be prepared for tight corridors and ambushes.

  1. Starting Area & Initial Path:
    • From the Mistle, head straight. You'll immediately encounter a few Lost.
    • Proceed down the main path. Keep an eye out for a small alcove to your left containing a Pure Blood item.
    • Continue forward, engaging any Lost you encounter. These initial enemies are generally standard variants, but their numbers can be overwhelming if you're not careful.
  2. First Major Encounter & Branching Paths:
    • You'll soon reach a more open cavern. Here, you'll face a larger group of Lost, including a more formidable variant like a Spiked Lost or a Blade Bearer. Focus on crowd control and isolating targets.
    • After clearing the area, look for two distinct paths:
      • Path A (Left): This path leads to a dead end with a valuable item. Follow it to find a chest containing a Queen Steel. Be wary of a lurking Lost that will ambush you here.
      • Path B (Right): This is the main progression path. Take this route after collecting the Queen Steel.
  3. Descent and Hidden Items:
    • Following Path B, you'll descend into a lower section of the Den. The environment becomes even darker here, so rely on your map and environmental cues.
    • As you descend, hug the right wall. You should spot a hidden path or ledge leading to a small platform. Here, you'll find a Loss Shard (M).
    • Continue your descent. You'll encounter more aggressive Lost, including some that may drop from above. Always be aware of your surroundings.
  4. The Central Chamber & Key Lost:
    • You'll eventually arrive at a large, circular chamber. This is a critical area. Several powerful Lost are positioned here, and defeating them is necessary to progress.
    • Prioritize taking down the larger, more dangerous Lost first, such as a Hammer-wielding Lost or a Shielded Lost. Their attacks can be devastating.
    • After clearing the chamber, thoroughly search the perimeter. There's often a hidden item like an Awake MJ212 or a Regen Inducer tucked away in a corner.
  5. Final Stretch to the Boss:
    • Once all the required Lost are defeated (you'll usually get a notification), the path to the boss will open. This is typically a previously blocked passage or a newly revealed entrance.
    • Before heading into the boss arena, ensure you've collected all available items and are fully healed. Consider using a Vestige Part if you've found one to unlock a new Blood Code.
