Depths: Silent White

The Depths: Silent White is a challenging area characterized by its icy, confined corridors and numerous powerful Lost. This guide will help you navigate its treacherous paths, locate valuable items, and overcome its formidable adversaries.

Accessing Silent White

To gain access to the Depths: Silent White, you must first acquire the Map: Silent White. This key item is typically found during your exploration of the main story areas. Once obtained, interact with a Mistle and select "Depths" to travel to Silent White.

Walkthrough

Upon arriving in Silent White, you'll find yourself at the Mistle. Take a moment to rest, manage your inventory, and prepare for the challenges ahead. The layout of Silent White is somewhat linear but features several branching paths and hidden corners.

  1. Initial Path and First Encounter: From the Mistle, proceed forward. You'll immediately encounter several Lost, including some larger, more aggressive variants. Focus on single targets and use your companion's abilities for crowd control.
  2. Left Branch - Vestige Part (A): Take the first path leading to your left. This often leads to a small alcove or dead end where you can find a Vestige Part (A). Be wary of ambushers in these tight spaces.
  3. Main Path - Elevated Platform: Continue along the main path. You'll soon reach an area with an elevated platform. Look for a ladder or a climbable section to reach it. On this platform, you'll typically find a valuable item like an Awake MJ212 or a Pure Blood.
  4. Right Branch - Hidden Chest: Explore the path to your right after the elevated platform. This often leads to a small, hidden area containing a chest. Inside, you might find rare crafting materials such as Queen Steel or Loss Shard (L). Beware of a stronger Lost guarding this chest.
  5. Descent and Mini-Boss Encounter: The main path will eventually lead you downwards into a more open area. Prepare for a mini-boss encounter here, often a powerful armored Lost or a pair of aggressive Feral Lost. Focus on dodging their heavy attacks and exploiting openings.
  6. Final Stretch - Vestige Part (B): After defeating the mini-boss, continue through the newly opened path. This final section will often contain the last Vestige Part (B) for this Depths area, usually near a dead end or a slightly obscured corner.

Key Items and Locations

  • Map: Silent White: Required to access this Depths area.
  • Vestige Part (A): Found in a left-side alcove early in the dungeon.
  • Vestige Part (B): Located near the end of the dungeon, after the mini-boss.
  • Awake MJ212: Often found on an elevated platform accessible via a ladder.
  • Pure Blood: Can be found on the elevated platform or in a side path.
  • Queen Steel: Typically found in a chest in a hidden right-side branch.
  • Loss Shard (L): Also found in the hidden chest or dropped by stronger Lost.

Enemy Strategies

  • Standard Lost: Easily dispatched with basic attacks. Watch for their lunging attacks.
  • Large Lost: These have more health and hit harder. Dodge their overhead swings and counter-attack. Consider using a heavy weapon or a Gift that breaks their stance.
  • Feral Lost: Fast and aggressive. They often attack in pairs. Prioritize one at a time and use Gifts that stun or slow them.
  • Armored Lost (Mini-Boss): These enemies have high defense. Focus on breaking their guard with charged attacks or specific Gifts. Look for openings after their slower, more telegraphed attacks.

Tips for Success

  • Bring a Companion: Always bring a companion. Their support, whether offensive or defensive, is invaluable in the Depths. Io or Yakumo are excellent choices for their healing and tanking capabilities, respectively.
  • Manage Stamina: Depths areas are often tight, making stamina management crucial for dodging and attacking.
  • Explore Thoroughly: Many valuable items and Vestige Parts are tucked away in side paths and hidden corners. Don't rush through.
  • use Gifts: Experiment with different Gifts to find combinations that work well against the Lost in this area. Buffs, debuffs, and area-of-effect attacks can be very effective.
  • Rest at Mistle: Don't hesitate to return to the Mistle to rest and replenish your healing items if you're struggling.
