Walkthrough

This is your very first mission in Company of Heroes, so don't stress too much! The game does a great job of giving you in-game cues and conversations to guide you. Pay attention to these; they're super helpful throughout the entire game, even in later, tougher missions.

For your first objective, it's all about overwhelming the enemy. Grab all your available units by dragging your mouse to select them. Then, simply move them towards the shingle (the beach area). Keep pushing your forces onto the shingle until most of Able Company is there.

Time to get tactical. Select your sniper unit and get them camouflaged. Your first target should be the closest MG42 crew. Taking them out early will make it much easier for your engineers to advance safely.

Now, focus on your engineers. You'll want to move them from one tank trap to the next. This will help them advance up the beach while minimizing the damage they take from any remaining MG42 fire.

Continue using your snipers to pick off MG42 crews as you push further up the hill. Once the immediate area is clear of machine gun nests, use your engineers and their satchel charges to destroy any remaining defenses or obstacles.

Prioritize taking out bunkers first, as infantry units will continuously spawn from them. Advance slowly and methodically. Let your snipers handle the enemy machine gun emplacements and heavy guns like the 88s. Use your regular rifle squads to provide covering fire for your engineers as they move between objectives. If you spot any light MG42s lying around, grab them! They significantly boost your squad's firepower.

To earn your first medal, the Expert Infantry Badge, focus on taking out the final gun after you've cleared out the left beach exit. This ensures a smoother advance and secures the objective.

Here's a pro-tip: if you manage to leave the closest 88 gun intact, you can actually use it to your advantage. It can help clear out the left beach exit and the two objective 88 guns, potentially leading to fewer casualties for your own troops.
