Maintain Sacred Fire: More than ever, maintaining your Sacred Fire (the sustained turbo from powersliding) is paramount. Many Nitro Kart tracks have long straightaways or extended turns perfect for chaining powerslides.
Utilize Anti-Gravity: When transitioning to anti-gravity sections, pay close attention to the track's banking. You can often powerslide through these sections to gain and maintain speed. Look for opportunities to hit boost pads while airborne.
Master the Air Brake: Some jumps on Nitro Kart tracks require precise landing. Use the air brake (holding the brake button while airborne) to adjust your trajectory and land on boost pads or avoid obstacles.
Item Awareness: Nitro Kart tracks often have more aggressive item placements. Be prepared for incoming projectiles and know when to use your defensive items like the Shield or TNT Crate.

Inferno Island

Inferno Island is a fiery track with a mix of tight turns and open sections. Mastering the initial boost and navigating the lava pits are key.

Opening Boost: Aim for a perfect boost at the start to gain an early lead.
First Lava Pit: After the initial turns, you'll encounter a large lava pit. There's a ramp leading over it. Powerslide into the ramp to get a small air boost, then land precisely on the boost pad on the other side.
Volcano Section: The winding path around the volcano requires consistent powersliding. Look for opportunities to cut corners slightly without hitting the lava.
Item Hotspot: The item boxes just before the final straight are often contested. Be ready to deploy a Bowling Bomb or Tracking Missile if you're behind, or a Shield if you're leading.

Jungle Boogie
