While the Demon Prince is the final boss of the Ringed City DLC, we're incorporating his guide here due to his critical role in the DLC's narrative and the fact that many players, especially those aiming for a complete experience or specific achievements, will encounter this challenging encounter around the late-game progression of the main story. His defeat is essential for completing the Ringed City storyline and accessing its unique rewards.
Strategy and Tips
The Demon Prince is a two-phase boss fight, beginning with the Demon in Pain and Demon from Below, and culminating in the Demon Prince himself. This fight demands patience, careful positioning, and a solid understanding of both phases.
- Phase 1: Demon in Pain & Demon from Below: You'll face two demons simultaneously. One will be "in pain" (more aggressive, uses fire attacks), and the other "from below" (more passive, uses toxic and slower attacks). Focus your damage on one demon to defeat it, which will then trigger the second phase. It's generally recommended to defeat the Demon in Pain first, as its aggressive nature can be harder to manage when both are active.
- Exploit Weaknesses: Both demons are susceptible to Bleed and Frostbite. Weapons or spells that inflict these status effects can significantly shorten the first phase.
- Summon Help: Gael and Lapp can be summoned for this fight, providing valuable distractions and additional damage. Their summon ss are typically found near the boss fog gate.
- Phase 2: The Demon Prince: Once one demon is defeated, the other will transform into the Demon Prince. His moveset will depend on which demon you defeated. If you defeated the Demon in Pain, the Prince will primarily use powerful fire attacks. If you defeated the Demon from Below, he will use a combination of fire and toxic attacks, including a devastating laser beam.
- Stay Mobile: The Demon Prince's attacks are often wide-reaching and delayed. Learning his attack patterns and rolling through them is crucial. Many of his attacks leave him vulnerable for a short period afterward.
- Recommended Equipment: Consider equipping fire-resistant armor and rings (e.g., Flame Stoneplate Ring, Speckled Stoneplate Ring). A fast-rolling build is highly advantageous.
