Humanity Farming
Humanity is a vital resource in Dark Souls Remastered, serving multiple crucial functions. It is used to reverse Hollowing, allowing players to regain their human form and interact with NPCs, summon allies, and kindle bonfires to increase the number of Estus Flasks they receive. Due to its importance, knowing efficient methods for farming Humanity is essential for a smoother gameplay experience. Early in the game, the Rats found in The Depths are a decent, albeit somewhat unreliable, source of Humanity. They have a small chance to drop it upon defeat.
As players progress, more lucrative farming spots become available. A particularly effective method involves venturing into the Tomb of the Giants and locating the area near Nito's boss fog. Here, You can find Baby Skeletons that respawn. These enemies have a higher drop rate for Humanity compared to the Rats in The Depths. However, this area is dangerous and requires careful navigation, especially in the dark. The most consistent and often preferred method for farming Humanity, especially for players who enjoy cooperative play, is to place their summon s and help other players defeat bosses. Successfully assisting another player in a boss battle will reward you with a Sunlight Medal, and often, a Humanity point as well. This method not only provides Humanity but also allows players to practice boss fights and earn souls.
The ability to kindle bonfires is directly tied to Humanity. Kindling a bonfire increases the number of Estus Flasks obtained from it, from the base of 5 to 10, and then to a maximum of 20 with the Kindling enhancement. This significantly improves survivability, especially in challenging areas or before difficult boss fights. Therefore, having a steady supply of Humanity is not just about reversing Hollowing but also about ensuring you have adequate healing resources. Mastering these farming techniques can make a significant difference in overcoming the game's many obstacles.
