Achieving 100% completion in Dead Space Remake requires three playthroughs. The first playthrough focuses on completing the game on any difficulty while collecting all "Slay" and "Collectible" Achievements. The second playthrough involves New Game+ to gather missed items and unlock the unique Alternate Ending. The final playthrough is dedicated to beating the game on Impossible Mode, earning the One Gun Achievement by using only the Plasma Cutter.

Optimal Playthrough Breakdown

The recommended strategy for 100% completion involves a specific sequence of playthroughs:

  • First Playthrough: Complete the game on any difficulty. Focus on acquiring all "Slay" and "Collectible" Achievements.
  • Second Playthrough (New Game+): Continue into NG+ to collect any missed items and unlock the unique Alternate Ending.
  • Third Playthrough: Beat the game on Impossible Mode. This playthrough is also for earning the One Gun Achievement, which requires using only the Plasma Cutter.

The Plasma Cutter is considered the strongest weapon, and using only one weapon can be advantageous due to reduced ammo drops. However, it is disadvantageous against Swarmers, Guardians, or Dividers. Maxing out all 7 Weapons and the Rig, along with the Level 6 Suit (available in NG+), is crucial. This requires 189 Power Nodes, with only 76 physically collectible per playthrough. Power Nodes can be purchased from the Store for 10,000 Credits if needed.
