You, the player, embody the protagonist. This character is never seen, never speaks, and their actions are limited to walking and looking. Their identity is one of the game's central mysteries. The narrator's letters are addressed to 'Esther,' but the relationship between the narrator and the protagonist, and indeed the narrator's own identity, is fluid and open to interpretation. Are you the narrator? Are you a separate entity? Is the entire experience a dream or a metaphor? The game deliberately leaves these questions unanswered, forcing You to project their own understanding onto the silent figure they control. There are no 'builds' for this character; your only 'ability' is observation.
