Visionary Strategies & Tactics
Mastering the loop means understanding your targets. Each Visionary presents unique challenges and opportunities. This section details advanced strategies, specific item locations, and tactical approaches to efficiently eliminate each target and break the loop.
Julianna Blake: The Ultimate Adversary
Julianna is your primary antagonist and a constant threat. While you can't "eliminate" her in the traditional sense, understanding her behavior and exploiting her appearances is crucial for gathering Residuum and valuable gear.
- Responding to Invasions: When Julianna invades, your primary objective is to hack the antenna to reopen the tunnels. Prioritize this, but be aware that she will likely try to intercept you.
- Exploiting Her Aggression: Julianna often pushes aggressively. Use this to your advantage by setting traps (e.g., tripmines, proximity mines) in common chokepoints or near the antenna.
- Weapon & Slab Drops: Defeating Julianna guarantees a valuable weapon and a random Slab. These are essential for upgrading your arsenal and powers. Always collect her drops!
- Environmental Awareness: Julianna frequently uses her Aether Slab to cloak. Listen for her footsteps and the tell-tale shimmer of her invisibility. Use environmental hazards or distractions to flush her out.
- Strategic Retreats: Don't be afraid to disengage if the fight isn't going your way. Regroup, heal, and re-engage from a different angle.
Harriet Morse: The Cult Leader
Harriet is found in Karl's Bay, typically in the morning. Her bunker is heavily guarded and filled with toxic gas.
Morning Elimination Strategy:
- Approach from the Roofs: Begin by approaching Harriet's hangar from the rooftops of Karl's Bay. This provides an excellent vantage point and avoids immediate ground patrols.
- Disabling the Gas: Your primary objective is to disable the toxic gas within the hangar.
- Locate the Gas Control Room on the upper level of the hangar, accessible via a catwalk.
- Inside, you'll find a series of valves. The correct sequence to disable the gas is usually marked by a note or can be deduced by observing the pipes. Alternatively, you can use the Hackamajig to disable the gas remotely from a safe distance if you have the upgrade.
- Stealth Takedown (Recommended): Once the gas is cleared, Harriet will be on the lower level, often preaching to her followers.
- Descend quietly, using the catwalks and cover.
- Utilize the Shift Slab to teleport behind her for a silent takedown, or a headshot with a silenced weapon like the LIMP-10 or Fourpounder.
- Alternatively, if you have the Karnesis Slab, you can throw her into the pit below for a quick, albeit less subtle, elimination.
- Looting: loot Harriet for her Nexus Slab and a powerful weapon.
Frank Spicer: The Party Animal
Frank is holed up in his club, "The Ramblin' Rocker," in Fristad Rock, primarily during the morning and noon. His club is a fortress, and he's paranoid about intruders.
Morning/Noon Elimination Strategy:
- Disabling the ClassPass: Frank requires everyone entering his club to wear a "ClassPass," which disables your Slabs. You *must* disable this system to use your powers inside.
- Enter the club from the main entrance.
- Immediately look for the ClassPass Terminal located near the entrance, often behind the bar or in a small security room.
- Hack the terminal with your Hackamajig to disable the system for everyone, including yourself. This will alert Frank, so be prepared.
- Navigating the Club: The club is a maze of corridors, dance floors, and VIP areas.
- Utilize the upper levels and ventilation shafts for stealthy movement.
- Frank often patrols the main stage area or his private booth.
- Direct Confrontation: Frank is heavily armed and has several bodyguards.
- Use the Shift Slab to quickly close the distance or gain high ground.
- The Havoc Slab can be effective for absorbing damage and dealing it back in close quarters.
- Consider using grenades or the Strelak 50-50 shotgun for maximum impact.
- Alternative Method (Later Loop): Once you've learned his schedule, you can eliminate him indirectly. If you sabotage his fireworks display in the afternoon, he will be killed in the evening. This frees up the morning/noon for other Visionaries.
Charlie Montague: The Game Master
Charlie is found in Updaam, typically in the afternoon, hosting his deadly game show, "Condition Detachment."
Afternoon Elimination Strategy:
- Accessing the Game: Charlie's game takes place in a large, multi-level complex.
- Enter the complex from the main entrance in Updaam.
- You'll need to navigate through various rooms and security measures.
- Playing the Game (Optional but Rewarding): You can choose to play Charlie's game, which involves solving puzzles and eliminating targets. This can lead to valuable loot and insights.
- The game's objective is to reach Charlie's control room.
- Look for clues and terminals to progress through the stages.
- Direct Approach: For a more direct approach, bypass the game mechanics.
- Use the Shift Slab to reach higher levels and bypass locked doors.
- Look for ventilation shafts or maintenance tunnels that lead directly to Charlie's control room.
- Charlie is often found in his central control room, surrounded by monitors.
- Exploiting His Position: Charlie is often stationary while monitoring the game.
- A well-placed headshot with a scoped weapon like the Rapier or Sepulchra Breteira can end him quickly.
- The Aether Slab can be used to sneak into his room undetected.
- Looting: Collect Charlie's Shift Slab and any other valuable gear.
Fia Zborowska & Wenjie Evans: The Dynamic Duo
Fia and Wenjie are often found together, particularly in Fristad Rock in the afternoon. Their combined presence makes them a formidable challenge.
Afternoon Elimination Strategy (Fristad Rock):
- Locating the Bunker: Fia and Wenjie are typically in Fia's bunker, a heavily fortified location in Fristad Rock.
- Approach the bunker cautiously, as it's heavily guarded by Eternalists and turrets.
- Look for hidden entrances or use the Hackamajig to disable turrets from a distance.
- Disabling the Reactor: Fia has a doomsday device – a reactor that will explode if she detects an intruder or is killed. You *must* disable this first.
- Locate the Reactor Control Room within the bunker. This often involves navigating through several levels and security systems.
- The control panel will have a sequence of four numbers. These numbers are usually found on notes scattered throughout the bunker or can be brute-forced if you're lucky.
- Input the correct code to stabilize the reactor. This will prevent the explosion, even if Fia is alerted.
- Engaging Fia: Fia is a master of the Havoc Slab and can be incredibly resilient.
- She often patrols the lower levels of the bunker.
- Use the Nexus Slab to link her with nearby Eternalists for a quick multi-kill.
- Exploit her aggressive nature by setting traps or ambushing her from above.
- Engaging Wenjie: Wenjie is less combat-focused but can be dangerous with her gadgets.
- She often stays in her lab area, surrounded by her clones.
- The Nexus Slab is incredibly effective here, as you can link multiple Wenjie clones and eliminate them all with a single shot.
- Prioritize the real Wenjie if you can identify her, but eliminating all clones is also effective.
- Looting: Collect Fia's Havoc Slab and Wenjie's Aether Slab, along with any other valuable gear.
Aleksis Dorsey: The Wolf
Aleksis is the host of a lavish party in Updaam, typically in the evening. He's paranoid and disguised among his guests.
Evening Elimination Strategy:
- Infiltrating the Party: The party is a large, multi-level mansion.
- Enter from the main entrance or find a less guarded entry point.
- The party is filled with Eternalists, many of whom are disguised as guests.
- Identifying Aleksis: This is the trickiest part. Aleksis is disguised and will not be immediately obvious.
- Listen to Conversations: Pay attention to the dialogue of the partygoers. They will drop hints about Aleksis's habits, preferences, and location.
- Observe Behavior: Aleksis often has unique behaviors, such as a specific dance move, a particular food he eats, or a distinct way he interacts with the environment.
- Check His Office: Aleksis's office, usually on an upper floor, often contains clues or a terminal that can help identify him.
- The "Piggy" Clue: A recurring clue involves his love for pork chops. Look for a character who is obsessively eating or talking about them.
- Strategic Elimination: Once identified, you have several options.
- Stealth Takedown: Use the Aether Slab to cloak and perform a silent takedown when he's isolated.
- Environmental Kill: If you can lure him to a specific location, you might be able to use environmental hazards (e.g., a falling chandelier, a gas leak).
- Direct Confrontation: If stealth isn't an option, be prepared for a fight. Aleksis is well-armed and has bodyguards. The Nexus Slab is excellent for clearing out groups of enemies.
- Looting: Collect Aleksis's Karnesis Slab and any other valuable items.
