Visionary Weaknesses & Strengths
Understanding the Visionaries' individual quirks, vulnerabilities, and preferred tactics is paramount to breaking the loop. Each target presents a unique challenge, demanding specific approaches and careful planning. This section details their strengths, weaknesses, and optimal strategies for their elimination.
Julianna Blake
- Strengths: Highly aggressive, possesses all Slab powers, excellent marksmanship, can disguise herself as an Eternalist, and frequently invades your game.
- Weaknesses: Predictable patrol routes in certain areas (e.g., Updaam rooftops), susceptible to environmental hazards, and can be outsmarted with careful trap placement.
- Strategy:
- Early Game: Prioritize stealth and evasion. Julianna is a formidable foe early on. Focus on gathering intel and upgrading your gear.
- Mid-Game: Once you have a few Slabs and upgraded weapons, consider engaging her. Use the Aether Slab to become invisible and ambush her. The Shift Slab is invaluable for quick repositioning and escaping her line of sight.
- Late Game: With a fully kitted Colt, Julianna becomes less of a threat. Lure her into choke points and unleash your most powerful weapons. The Fourpounder with the "Explosive Rounds" perk is highly effective. Alternatively, set up proximity mines (Mine trinket) at common invasion points.
- Specific Encounter: During the "Ending It" mission, Julianna will confront you in the Updaam complex. Utilize the numerous cover points and the Karnesis Slab to throw her off balance or into environmental hazards.
Wenjie Evans
- Strengths: Creates multiple clones of herself, making it difficult to pinpoint the real target. Her clones can also attack.
- Weaknesses: The real Wenjie is vulnerable once identified. Her clones are relatively fragile. She is often found in her lab, a contained environment.
- Strategy:
- The Complex (Morning):
- Your primary objective is to identify and eliminate the real Wenjie. The "What Wenjies Want" lead will guide you.
- Head to The Complex in the morning. Navigate to Wenjie's lab.
- Upon entering the main lab area, you'll encounter multiple Wenjie clones.
- Identifying the Real Wenjie:
- Method 1 (Observation): The real Wenjie will often be more focused on her work or will react differently to your presence than her clones. Pay attention to her animations and dialogue.
- Method 2 (Environmental Clues): Sometimes, the real Wenjie will be near a specific piece of equipment or a unique item.
- Method 3 (Trial and Error): If all else fails, eliminate clones until the real one is revealed. The clones will dissipate upon death.
- Once identified, focus all your firepower on the real Wenjie. The Strelak 5000 sniper rifle is excellent for quickly dispatching her from a distance.
- Alternatively, use the Havoc Slab to increase your damage output and quickly burst her down.
- The Final Loop (Evening):
- During the final loop, Wenjie will be at the Party at Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam.
- She will be mingling with other partygoers. Use the same identification methods as in The Complex, or simply eliminate all Wenjie clones you encounter until the real one is gone.
- The mansion offers many stealth opportunities. Consider using the Aether Slab to sneak up on her.
- The Complex (Morning):
Frank Spicer
- Strengths: Heavily armored, wields a powerful shotgun, and is often surrounded by Eternalists. He is also protected by a unique "ClassPass" system that disables your Slabs.
- Weaknesses: Slow movement, predictable attack patterns, and the ClassPass can be bypassed.
- Strategy:
- Franks's Club (Morning):
- To eliminate Frank, you must infiltrate his club in Franks's Club in Karl's Bay during the morning.
- The main challenge is the ClassPass. When you enter the club, your Slabs will be disabled.
- Bypassing the ClassPass:
- Method 1 (Disable the System): Find the ClassPass terminal in the club's control room (often on the upper floor overlooking the main stage). Hack it to temporarily disable the system. This will allow you to use your Slabs inside.
- Method 2 (Stealth & Melee): If you prefer a non-Slab approach, rely on stealth and powerful melee attacks. The Machete with damage trinkets can be surprisingly effective.
- Once your Slabs are active (or you're confident without them), engage Frank. He often patrols the main stage area or his private office.
- Use the Nexus Slab to chain damage between Frank and his nearby Eternalist bodyguards.
- The Spiker silenced nailgun is excellent for headshots if you can get behind him.
- Alternatively, lure him into a secluded area and unleash a barrage of explosives (e.g., Grenades, Fourpounder).
- The Final Loop (Evening):
- Frank will be at the Party at Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam during the evening.
- He will still be heavily armored. The ClassPass system is not present here, so you can use your Slabs freely.
- Focus fire on his head for critical damage. The Rapier with a scope is ideal for this.
- Consider using the Karnesis Slab to throw him off ledges or into other Visionaries for environmental kills.
- Franks's Club (Morning):
Harriet Morse
- Strengths: Commands a cult of Eternalists, uses poison gas, and is often in elevated positions.
- Weaknesses: Her poison gas can be turned against her, and she is vulnerable to ranged attacks.
- Strategy:
- Hangar 2 (Morning):
- Harriet is found in Hangar 2 in Karl's Bay during the morning.
- The hangar is filled with her cultists and poison gas.
- Dealing with the Gas:
- Method 1 (Environmental Control): Locate the gas valves in the hangar and turn them off. This will clear the air and make navigation much easier.
- Method 2 (Aether Slab): Use the Aether Slab to become invisible and bypass the gas-filled areas.
- Method 3 (Resilience Trinket): Equip the Resilience trinket to reduce poison damage, allowing you to push through.
- Harriet often preaches from an elevated platform. Use a scoped weapon like the Strelak 5000 or the Rapier to take her out from a distance.
- Alternatively, use the Shift Slab to quickly reach her platform and engage her in close quarters with a powerful shotgun like the Vopat Trencher.
- Consider using the Nexus Slab to link Harriet with her nearby cultists, allowing you to eliminate multiple targets with a single shot.
- The Final Loop (Evening):
- Harriet will be at the Party at Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam during the evening.
- She will still be a threat with her cultists. Prioritize eliminating her quickly to avoid being overwhelmed.
- The mansion's open layout allows for flanking maneuvers. Use the Shift Slab to get behind her.
- A well-placed Grenade or Sticky Bomb can be devastating if she's surrounded by her followers.
- Hangar 2 (Morning):
Ramblin' Aleksis Dorsey
- Strengths: Hosts a large party with many Eternalists, can be difficult to identify among the crowd, and is well-guarded.
- Weaknesses: Obsessed with his party and his "music," which can be used to lure him out.
- Strategy:
- Aleksis' Mansion (Evening):
- Aleksis hosts his extravagant party in Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam during the evening.
- The main challenge is identifying Aleksis among the many partygoers, as he often wears a wolf mask similar to his guests.
- Identifying Aleksis:
- Method 1 (The "What Wenjies Want" Lead): Follow the lead "What Wenjies Want" to learn about Aleksis' specific preferences. He has a unique reaction to certain music or food.
- Method 2 (The "Devouring of the Lambs" Lead): This lead will guide you to a specific room in the mansion where you can manipulate the party's music. Playing a particular track will cause Aleksis to reveal himself by reacting strongly.
- Method 3 (Observation): Pay attention to unique dialogue or actions. Aleksis might be more animated or have specific interactions with his guards.
- Method 4 (Elimination): If all else fails, systematically eliminate partygoers wearing wolf masks until the "Visionary Down" message appears. Be prepared for a fight.
- Once identified, Aleksis is a formidable opponent. He often wields a powerful shotgun.
- Use the Nexus Slab to link him with his bodyguards, allowing you to take them all out simultaneously.
- The mansion has many environmental hazards. Lure him near ledges or explosive barrels.
- The MG-1 Pepper Mill light machine gun is excellent for sustained fire against him.
- Aleksis' Mansion (Evening):
Egor Serling
- Strengths: Uses the Aether Slab to become invisible, sets up tripmines, and is often in a secluded, fortified area.
- Weaknesses: His invisibility can be countered, and his patrol routes are somewhat predictable.
- Strategy:
- The Complex (Evening):
- Egor is found in The Complex during the evening, usually near his research station or the "Anomaly" device.
- He will frequently use his Aether Slab to become invisible, making him difficult to target.
- Countering Aether:
- Method 1 (Sensor Array): During the "Lost in Transmission" lead, you can sabotage Egor's sensor array. This will prevent him from turning invisible, making him an easy target. This is the recommended approach.
- Method 2 (Environmental Clues): Look for shimmering outlines, disturbed dust, or the sound of his footsteps to track his invisible movements.
- Method 3 (Area of Effect): Use area-of-effect weapons like the Fourpounder or Grenades to hit him even when invisible.
- Method 4 (Turrets): Place automated Turrets in his patrol path. They will automatically target him even when he's invisible.
- Egor also places numerous Tripmines around his area. Use the Hackamajig to disarm or re-purpose them.
- Once his invisibility is countered, Egor is relatively straightforward to eliminate. The Limps-10 submachine gun is effective for close-quarters combat.
- Consider using the Karnesis Slab to throw him off his elevated platforms.
- The Final Loop (Evening):
- Egor will be at the Party at Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam during the evening.
- He will still use his Aether Slab. The mansion environment provides plenty of cover for him to disappear.
- Prioritize disabling his invisibility using the methods described above (if you haven't already from the "Lost in Transmission" lead).
- Use the mansion's layout to your advantage, flanking him or luring him into open areas where his invisibility is less effective.
- The Complex (Evening):
Fia Zborowska
- Strengths: Extremely volatile, triggers a nuclear explosion upon death or detection, and is often in a heavily guarded, labyrinthine bunker.
- Weaknesses: Her explosion can be prevented, and her bunker has specific vulnerabilities.
- Strategy:
- Fia's Bunker (Noon):
- Fia is located in her bunker in Franks's Club in Karl's Bay during noon.
- The primary threat is her nuclear device. If she dies, or if you are detected too many times, she will trigger the explosion, ending the loop.
- Preventing the Explosion:
- Method 1 (The "Afternoon Delight" Lead): This lead is crucial. It reveals how to prevent the explosion. You need to find a specific code and use it to flood the bunker, neutralizing the device.
- Method 2 (Stealth & Speed): If you haven't completed "Afternoon Delight," you must be incredibly stealthy. Eliminate Fia quickly and silently before she can react. The Spiker is ideal for this.
- Navigating the Bunker:
- The bunker is a complex maze. Use the Shift Slab to navigate quickly and avoid detection.
- There are many Eternalists and security systems. Hack Turrets and Sensors with your Hackamajig.
- Look for hidden passages and ventilation shafts to bypass heavily guarded areas.
- Once the explosion is neutralized (or you're confident in a stealth kill), engage Fia. She often patrols her art studio or the central chamber.
- The Vopat Trencher shotgun is excellent for close-quarters combat in the bunker's tight corridors.
- The Final Loop (Evening):
- Fia will be at the Party at Aleksis' Mansion in Updaam during the evening.
- She will still be volatile, but the nuclear device is not present here. However, she will still fight aggressively.
- The mansion offers more open space, allowing for more tactical approaches. Use the Aether Slab to get close and eliminate her quickly.
- The Fourpounder with "Explosive Rounds" can quickly dispatch her.
- Fia's Bunker (Noon):
