Retained Items & Progress
Upon completing Demon's Souls, certain items and your overall progress are retained when starting a New Game Plus (NG+). This allows you to carry over valuable resources and continue your journey with a stronger character. Understanding what persists is crucial for planning your NG+ playthrough and tackling the increased challenges that await.
Key items that carry over include all your currently held Souls, equipped gear, and any items in your inventory. This means your weapons, armor, rings, and consumables will be with you from the start. Furthermore, your character's stats, level, and accumulated Souls Level (SL) are preserved. This allows you to build upon your existing character's strengths or adapt your build to face new threats.
World Tendency also resets to its neutral state at the beginning of each NG+ cycle. This means you'll have the opportunity to influence Tendency again and unlock different events and item spawns. Boss souls are also retained, allowing you to re-forge boss weapons or learn new spells and miracles if you missed them in your first playthrough. However, key items like the Archdemon Souls themselves and quest-specific items might not carry over in the same way, so it's wise to use them before entering NG+.
