Once you have successfully defeated the final boss and witnessed the conclusion of your first playthrough, the world of Demon's Souls does not end. Instead, you are presented with the option to begin New Game Plus (NG+). In NG+, you retain all your character levels, stats, collected souls (though they are not carried over automatically, you start with the souls from your final boss kill), and most of your equipment. However, the world of Boletaria has reset, and with it, the challenges have been significantly amplified. Enemies hit harder, have more health, and new, more dangerous foes may appear. This increased difficulty is designed to test your mastery of the game's mechanics and your build. NG+ also offers the opportunity to pursue missed trophies, explore alternative questlines, and experiment with different character builds. It's a chance to re-experience the game with a newfound understanding and a greater appreciation for its intricate des, all while facing a more punishing version of its already brutal world.
