The Shrine of Storms, known as the Archstone of the Shadowmen, is a desolate and windswept region where ancient ruins crumble under the relentless assault of the elements. This world is characterized by its verticality, treacherous platforming, and the constant threat of aerial and ground-based ambushes.

The journey through the Shrine of Storms is divided into three distinct areas:

Island's Edge (4-1): This initial area introduces players to the harsh environment, featuring crumbling cliffs, skeletal enemies, and the introduction of the formidable Storm Beasts. Careful navigation and awareness of falling hazards are paramount.
The Ritual Path (4-2): Delving deeper into the ruins, this section presents more intricate platforming challenges and the introduction of the agile and dangerous Crow Demons. Fog and rain often obscure vision, making pathfinding difficult.
Altar of Storms (4-3): The culmination of the Shrine of Storms, this area leads to a confrontation with the Storm King. It's a gauntlet of powerful enemies and environmental hazards that test the player's mastery of the game's mechanics.

The primary threats in the Shrine of Storms include the ever-present skeletons, the swift Crow Demons that can attack from above, and the powerful Storm Beasts that unleash devastating ranged attacks. The environment itself is a constant adversary, with crumbling platforms, strong winds that can push players off ledges, and poor visibility due to the persistent rain.

World Tendency significantly impacts the Shrine of Storms. Achieving Pure White World Tendency is crucial as it reveals hidden paths and allows access to the Stormruler, a weapon vital for defeating the final boss. Conversely, Pure Black World Tendency will spawn Black Phantom versions of enemies, increasing the difficulty considerably.

Exploration is highly rewarded in this world. Many valuable items, including powerful weapons and crucial upgrade materials, are hidden behind challenging platforming sections or in obscured areas.
