Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness Strategy

Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness, the imposing final boss of the Vow of the Disciple raid, presents a significant challenge in the 2026 Expansion. This encounter is a test of precision, coordination, and understanding of the Witness's unique brand of power. Rhulk's attacks are imbued with the power of the Pyramid, making them both visually striking and lethally effective.

The fight begins with Guardians navigating a series of environmental puzzles and combat encounters leading up to Rhulk's arena. Once in his domain, Rhulk will employ a series of devastating attacks. A key mechanic involves Rhulk's "Leaning" ability, where he charges a powerful solar blast. Guardians must use a specific buff, obtained by interacting with "Glyphkeepers," to parry this attack. Failure to parry correctly results in massive damage or instant death. The Glyphkeepers themselves will also need to be managed, as they can disrupt the parry mechanic. During this phase, add control is vital, with Psions and Tormentors posing significant threats.

The damage phase for Rhulk is triggered after successfully parrying his solar blast. During this window, Guardians should focus their highest damage output on Rhulk's chest. Weapons that excel in burst damage, such as rocket launchers or fusion rifles, are highly recommended. Supers like Blade Barrage or Thundercrash can be devastating. A critical mistake players often make is failing to communicate effectively during the parry phase, leading to missed opportunities or wipes. Another common error is not prioritizing the Glyphkeepers, allowing them to disrupt the team's rhythm. It is also crucial to manage the "Darkness" debuff that Rhulk can inflict, which reduces healing. Using abilities that cleanse debuffs or provide rapid healing is essential. Consider assigning specific roles for parrying and add management to ensure a smooth execution of the encounter. The use of Void subclasses for their debuffs can also be advantageous during the damage phase.
