The 2026 Expansion refines the vendor and reputation systems, making them more integral to your progression and offering more meaningful rewards. Each major vendor, such as the Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit, and the new planetary vendors on Xylos and Cygnus X-1, now operates on a tiered reputation system. As you complete activities associated with a particular vendor, you'll earn reputation points, increasing your standing with them. For example, completing Vanguard Ops missions will grant Vanguard reputation, while winning Crucible matches earns Crucible reputation. Each rank-up with a vendor will unlock new bounties, weapon rolls, armor pieces, and sometimes even exclusive mods or shaders.
The new "Chronal Echoes" vendor, found in the Chrono-Forge in the Tower, offers a unique reputation track tied to collecting "Temporal Anomalies" found throughout the expansion's new activities. Reaching higher ranks with Chronal Echoes can unlock powerful time-manipulating perks for your gear or even unique Exotic weapon catalysts. Furthermore, specific vendors will offer "Infusion Cores" and "Masterwork Cores" at higher reputation levels, essential for optimizing your gear's Power Level and stats. Pay attention to the weekly vendor resets; new bounties and limited-time offers often appear, providing opportunities for rapid reputation gains. For instance, completing the weekly challenge for the Crucible vendor might grant a significant boost of 500 reputation points. Some vendors also offer specific weapon frames that can be purchased and then crafted at the Enclave, allowing for greater customization of your arsenal. Mastering these systems is key to acquiring the best gear and staying competitive.
