Dominus Ghaul is the primary antagonist of the Red War campaign, a powerful Cabal warlord who stole the Traveler's Light. Your final confrontation with him takes place in the heart of the Traveler itself.
Phases & Mechanics:
- Phase 1: Ground Combat: Ghaul will engage you directly, using powerful melee attacks and a shotgun. He will also summon Cabal adds. Focus on dodging his attacks and clearing adds to create damage windows. Use your Super when available.
- Phase 2: Light Absorption: Ghaul will periodically absorb Light from the Traveler, gaining temporary invulnerability and unleashing powerful elemental attacks (Arc, Solar, Void). During this phase, you must destroy the conduits channeling the Light to him. There are three conduits around the arena.
- Phase 3: Final Stand: After destroying the conduits, Ghaul will be vulnerable for a short period. Repeat the process of damaging him and destroying conduits until his health is depleted.
Strategy Tips:
- Stay Mobile: Ghaul's melee attacks are devastating. Keep moving and use your class ability (Dodge, Barricade, Rift) to evade or create cover.
- Prioritize Adds: Cabal adds can quickly overwhelm you. Clear them out before focusing on Ghaul.
- Elemental Matching: When Ghaul absorbs Light, his shield will match the element. Use weapons or abilities of the corresponding element to break his shield faster.
- Super Management: Save your Super for damage phases on Ghaul, especially after destroying conduits.
