This section breaks down all significant items by region, offering precise locations and strategies to ensure you don't miss a single shard, bottle, or mosaic piece. Remember, some collectibles are tied to specific quests or require certain abilities, so always be prepared!
The Hinterlands
Your first major open-world zone is surprisingly rich in hidden treasures. While many are straightforward, some require a keen eye or a bit of exploration off the beaten path.
- Shards: There are 13 Shards scattered throughout the Hinterlands.
- Southern Hinterlands: Look for three Shards near the Crossroads, often requiring you to climb small hills or investigate ruins. One is particularly well-hidden behind a crumbling wall near the river south of the Redcliffe Farms.
- Central Hinterlands: Four Shards are found around the Upper Lake Camp and the farms. Use your "Search" ability frequently, especially near stone structures and abandoned carts.
- Northern Hinterlands: The remaining six Shards are primarily located in the northern reaches, particularly around the Dusklight Camp and the area leading towards the Witchwood. One notorious Shard is perched on a precarious ledge overlooking the valley, requiring a careful jump or a path found by circling around.
- Bottles of Thedas: Two Bottles can be found here.
- Bottle of Thedas, Vol. 1: Located in the ruins of the Grand Forest Villa, near the entrance to the Valammar dungeon. It's often found on a broken table or shelf inside one of the more intact buildings.
- Bottle of Thedas, Vol. 2: Found in the caves beneath the Dwarfson's Pass, accessible from the northern part of the region. Explore all nooks and crannies within the cave system.
- Mosaics: The Hinterlands holds two Mosaic pieces.
- Mosaic Piece (The Fall): This piece is located within the caves of the Crossroads, specifically in the area where you first encounter the apostate mages. Check the walls and floors carefully after clearing the enemies.
- Mosaic Piece (The Maker): Found near the Dwarfson's Pass, often on a small ledge overlooking the main path, or tucked away in a ruined structure nearby.
Val Royeaux
While primarily a hub for quests and vendors, Val Royeaux also contains a few key collectibles that are easy to overlook amidst the bustling crowds.
- Bottles of Thedas: One Bottle is available in the capital.
- Bottle of Thedas, Vol. 3: This bottle is found on the upper level of the market district, often on a balcony or a small, accessible rooftop. Look for stairs or ramps that lead upwards from the main plaza.
- Mosaics: Two Mosaic pieces can be acquired here.
- Mosaic Piece (The Chantry): Located within the Grand Cathedral. After entering, look for a side room or an alcove off the main hall. It's usually on a wall or a pedestal.
- Mosaic Piece (The Empress): Found in the gardens near the Chantry, often tucked away behind a hedge or statue. Explore the perimeter thoroughly.
Storm Coast
The rugged Storm Coast offers a mix of Shards and Bottles, often requiring exploration of its treacherous shores and hidden caves.
- Shards: There are 13 Shards to discover on the Storm Coast.
- Southern Coast: Three Shards are found around the starting camp and the initial beach areas. One is often on a small island accessible at low tide or by carefully traversing rocks.
- Central Coast: Four Shards are located near the Great Grotto and the areas leading towards the Red Templar camp. check inside the caves and along the cliff faces.
- Northern Coast: The remaining six Shards are in the more challenging northern sections, including the area near the Dragon's Tooth and the path to the Iron Bull's personal quest location. Some require careful platforming or finding hidden paths.
- Bottles of Thedas: Two Bottles await discovery.
- Bottle of Thedas, Vol. 4: Found within the Great Grotto, often on a raised platform or near a chest after clearing the enemies.
- Bottle of Thedas, Vol. 5: Located on the northernmost island, accessible only after completing a specific war table operation or by finding a hidden path through the cliffs. It's usually near a landmark or a small ruin.
Crestwood
Crestwood, with its haunted village and flooded lake, holds a unique set of collectibles, including the infamous "Halla Statues" during the "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" quest.
- Halla Statues (Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts): While not strictly a "region" collectible, the Halla Statues are crucial for unlocking areas within the Winter Palace. There are 10 Halla Statues available during the quest, but you only need 9 to unlock all collectible-related doors.
- Garden Entrance: The first Halla Statue is immediately visible upon entering the palace gardens. Use one here to open the first garden door for easy access later.
- Grand Ballroom Perimeter: Several statues are found in the side rooms and corridors surrounding the Grand Ballroom. Eavesdrop on conversations to reveal hidden passages or open locked doors leading to these.
- Servants' Quarters: Explore the servants' areas thoroughly. One statue is often in a pantry or a small storage room.

Strategy Note: Prioritize using Halla Statues to open doors leading to other collectibles first. The door to the Trophy Room (requiring interaction with guards and Cullen) and the door to the Empress's Private Chambers are critical for completing other collection quests.
