As you attempt to leave Farebury to the north, you'll encounter a bridge blocked by a large boulder. A gruff, axe-wielding man named Yangus will appear, attempting to clear the path. After a brief, humorous exchange, he'll ask for your help. This is your first taste of combat. The enemies are Slimes and Drackies, which are very easy to defeat. Use your basic 'Fight' command. After the battle, Yangus will successfully clear the boulder, but then he'll demand payment for his 'services'.
King Trode, ever the miser, will refuse. This leads to a comical chase scene. Eventually, Yangus will catch up to you and, after another brief encounter, will decide to join your party out of a sense of obligation (and perhaps a bit of curiosity about the cursed king). Yangus is a powerful physical attacker, specializing in Axes and Fisticuffs. His addition significantly boosts your party's combat capabilities. With Yangus in tow, you can now proceed north towards the Alexandria region. equip him with any spare weapons or armor you might have found or purchased.
