The Luminary (Hero) — Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Walkthrough
The Luminary, the main protagonist, is a legendary hero destined to save the world. This guide covers initial setup, early game equipment choices, and navigation tips to help you start your adventure effectively. Follow these steps to ensure a strong beginning for your journey.
- Start the game and choose a name for the main character.
- Choose 3D or 2D mode (this guide is for 3D mode).
- Choose a language, camera controls, and brightness. You can skip cutscenes by holding the X button.
- Once the cutscene is over, press the Y button to bring up the menu, and go to Misc. Choose system settings, and claim special rewards and grab all three items.
- Return to the menu, choose equipment, and change the Hero's Cobblestone Sword to the Cobblestone Greatsword. It's better to focus the Hero in Greatswords until you reach Act III.
- Also, equip the Trodain Bandana and the Trodain Togs.
- Follow the dog. Hold the RT button to run.
- Talk to people with pink dots over their heads for directions.
- You'll enter your first fight with 3 slimes. Focus fire with the dog.
- After the fight, go to the shrine on the left. Behind it is a chest with a shield.
- Return to following the dog.
- The next purple dot is behind the armor shop. Talk to the tourist.
- The book he wants is Southeast of the city, on a bookshelf inside a building. Read all Red books like this one for important recipes.
- Return to the Tourist and tell him what you learned. (This completes 1 of 40 side quests).
- Take the Drasilian Shilling and sell it in the weapon store.
- If you have enough money, purchase the Copper Chopper for the Hero.
