Learn strategies for Elden Ring Nightreign Evergaol bosses like Bloodnight Darriwill and Crucible Knight. Find locations and rewards.

Evergaols are large circles that you can enter with the interact button. Once inside you will be fighting a boss in an alternate realm (a separate area not part of the main world). Some of these bosses are really tough and preparation or the right equipment is crucial. In this section, I will go over tips and strategies for defeating these boss types.

Evergaol Boss List:

  • Bloodnight Darriwill - Limgrave - Forlorn Hound Evergaol - Reward: Bloodhound's Fang (Curved Sword)
  • Crucible Knight - Limgrave - Stormhill Evergaol - Reward: Aspect of The Crucible (Incantation)
  • Ancient Hero of Zamor - Weeping Penninsula - Reward: Radagon's Scarseal (Talisman)
  • Adan, Thief of Fire - Malefactor's Evergaol - Liurnia of the Lakes - Reward: Flame of the Fell God
  • Bols, Carian Knight - Cuckoo's Evergaol - Liurnia of the Lakes - Reward: Great blade Phalanx

Bloodnight Darriwill

The most crucial factor of this battle is to use a shield with good "hardness" (a hidden statistic in Elden Ring that determines if attacks bounce off). Hardness has 6 tiers and depending upon the enemy, certain attacks may bounce off the shield, leaving the enemy wide open to a follow-up attack. The fight should go with you pressing L1 (the block button) to block. Let Bloodnight Darriwill attack and then follow up with a strike of your own. Keep your Flask of Crimson Tears (a healing item) high, also use some heavier armor. You won't need to roll-dodge (evade attacks by rolling) much. Taking extra damage because of having low armor protection isn't worth it. The reward will be the Bloodhound's Fang Curved Sword, which has a unique attack as a weapon art/ability.

Blaidd is available for summoning help here. You cannot use your Spirit Ashes (summoned allies). Players must progress through Merchant Kale's Questline (a series of tasks given by an NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you)).

Crucible Knight

This fight is very difficult, especially if you are low-leveled and have no good magical projectiles. I suggest waiting until later to fight this boss. Using cracked pots with items such as Fire Pots can help. Keeping your distance is also good, so you may want to stay lighter in the weight department to roll away and run away faster to continue casting or throwing projectiles. The reward for the victory is the Aspects of the Crucible Tail. Unfortunately, you may not be able to use this item if you are low-leveled. This mini-boss (a smaller, optional boss) should be returned to around level 45-50 as a recommendation.
