Weeping Peninsula

The Weeping Peninsula is an excellent early-game zone for Tarnished seeking to bolster their character, acquire useful items, and gain a significant amount of Runes before tackling tougher challenges like Stormveil Castle. This area is accessible from Limgrave by crossing the Bridge of Sacrifice.

Reaching the Peninsula

  1. From the Agheel Lake South Site of Grace in Limgrave, head southeast towards the large stone bridge.
  2. Cross the Bridge of Sacrifice. Be wary of the two Godrick Soldiers and the Pumpkin Head guarding the bridge. The Pumpkin Head is slow but hits hard; consider luring the soldiers away first or using ranged attacks.
  3. Immediately after crossing, you'll find the Bridge of Sacrifice Site of Grace. Rest here.
  4. Speak to Irina, the NPC sitting by the roadside near the Site of Grace. She will give you Irina's Letter, initiating a questline.

Key Locations and Items

  • Castle Morne Rampart: Follow the main road south from the Bridge of Sacrifice. You'll soon reach the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace. This area offers a great vantage point and is a good starting point for exploring the eastern side of the peninsula.
  • Castle Morne: Located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula. This legacy dungeon is home to the area's main boss.
    • Leonine Misbegotten: The boss of Castle Morne. A formidable foe, but defeating him rewards you with the Grafted Blade Greatsword, a powerful colossal sword.
    • Spirit Jellyfish Ashes: Found within Castle Morne, these Spirit Ashes are excellent for drawing aggro and dealing poison damage.
  • Fourth Church of Marika: West of the main road, near the western coast. This church contains a Sacred Tear, which enhances the potency of your Flask of Crimson Tears and Flask of Cerulean Tears.
  • Demi-Human Forest Ruins: Located in the central-western part of the peninsula. This area is populated by Demi-Humans and their chieftain. Defeating the chieftain can yield valuable crafting materials.
  • Minor Erdtree (Weeping Peninsula): Found in the central-eastern part of the peninsula. Defeat the Erdtree Avatar here to obtain a Crystal Tear for your Flask of Wondrous Physick.
  • Oridys's Rise: A tower on the western side of the peninsula. To enter, you must solve a puzzle involving three spectral turtles. One is usually invisible and requires attacking the air. Inside, you'll find a Memory Stone, increasing your spell slot capacity.
  • Tombsward Catacombs: Located on the western side, near the Minor Erdtree. This dungeon contains the Lhutel the Headless Ashes, a powerful tanky spirit summon.
  • Earthbore Cave: Found on the eastern side, north of Castle Morne. This cave holds the Demi-Human Queen's Staff and the Demi-Human Queen's Ashes.

Exploration Tips

  • Horseback Combat: use Torrent for swift travel and effective hit-and-run tactics against larger groups of enemies or mounted foes.
  • Watch for Ballistas: Several areas, particularly around Castle Morne, are guarded by ballistas. Approach these cautiously, using cover or Torrent's speed to avoid their projectiles.
  • Nighttime Encounters: Some unique enemies and events only appear at night. Keep an eye out for glowing objects or unusual sounds.
  • Crafting Materials: The Weeping Peninsula is rich in early-game crafting materials like Rune Arcs, Golden Runes, and various flora for crafting consumables. Take your time to gather resources.
  • Merchants: A Nomadic Merchant can be found near the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace, offering useful items and information.

By thoroughly exploring the Weeping Peninsula, you'll gain a significant advantage for the challenges ahead in the Lands Between.
