The Grappling Hook is a vital traversal tool in Enshrouded, allowing you to reach elevated areas and cross gaps. You will unlock the recipe for the Grappling Hook early in the game, typically after rescuing the Blacksmith and completing some of his initial quests. To craft it, you will need to use the Workbench. The required materials are usually:

- Metal Scraps: Obtained by breaking down metal objects or looting enemies.
- Shroud Wood: Acquired by chopping down trees within Shrouded areas.
- String: Crafted from Plant Fiber at the Workbench.
Once crafted, equip the Grappling Hook to your action bar. You can use it on designated grappling points, which appear as glowing anchors on walls or ledges. Later in the game, you will also unlock the recipe for an Improved Grappling Hook, which offers extended range and faster deployment, often requiring materials from the Low Meadows or Revelwood. The Improved Grappling Hook recipe is granted after defeating the boss at the Hill of Scavengers in the Springlands.
