Resource Nodes & Farming Locations
Mastering resource acquisition is fundamental to surviving and thriving in the perilous world of Enshrouded. This guide details the most crucial resource nodes, optimal farming locations, and strategies to efficiently gather the materials you need for crafting, building, and upgrading your gear.
Understanding Resource Respawn & Persistence
- Soft Reset: Most resource nodes (trees, bushes, small rocks, wild plants) respawn after a short period (typically 1-2 in-game days) or when you reload the game/server.
- Hard Reset: Larger ore veins, significant rock formations, and some unique flora may require a longer duration or specific conditions (e.g., leaving the area for a substantial time, server restart) to fully respawn.
- Persistent Nodes: Some unique or quest-related resources might be one-time pickups or have extremely long respawn timers. Always check your map for marked nodes.
- Shrouded Areas: Resources within the Shroud often respawn faster due to the dynamic nature of these zones. However, the time limit and enemy density make sustained farming challenging without proper preparation.
Essential Early-Game Resources (Plains & Springlands)
Wood & Plant Fiber
These are your absolute foundational resources for crafting tools, basic structures, and early armor. You'll need thousands of these.
- Wood:
- Source: Virtually any tree. Use an axe.
- Best Early Location: The entire Springlands region, particularly around your initial base location. The forests directly surrounding the Cinder Vault are excellent for initial wood gathering.
- Strategy: Equip a basic axe and chop down every tree you see. Prioritize larger trees for more yield.
- Plant Fiber:
- Source: Small bushes, shrubs, and wild plants.
- Best Early Location: Abundant in the grassy plains and forests of the Springlands. Look for small, leafy green plants.
- Strategy: Simply walk through and interact with (E key) these plants. They are very common.
Stone & Flint
Crucial for early tools, building blocks, and crafting stations.
- Stone:
- Source: Any rock formation. Use a pickaxe.
- Best Early Location:
- Starting Area: Small rock piles are everywhere.
- Braelyn Bridge Area: The cliffs and hills around Braelyn Bridge (north of your initial Cinder Vault) are rich in stone.
- Abandoned Hunter's Camp (Springlands): East of the Cinder Vault, this area has numerous rock formations.
- Strategy: Equip a pickaxe. Target larger rock faces for better yield. Stone respawns relatively quickly.
- Flint:
- Source: Distinctive grey-black rock nodes, often found embedded in larger stone formations or cliff faces.
- Best Early Location:
- Braelyn Bridge: Along the riverbanks and cliff faces near Braelyn Bridge.
- Rookmore: The rocky outcrops around the Rookmore settlement (northwest of the Cinder Vault) often contain flint.
- Abandoned Hunter's Camp: Check the rocky areas surrounding this camp.
- Strategy: Flint nodes are smaller and less common than regular stone. Keep an eye out for their darker texture.
Shroud Core & Shroud Spores
Essential for upgrading your Flame Altar and crafting Shroud-related items.
- Shroud Core:
- Source: Dropped by Shroud enemies, found in Shroud Chests, or crafted from Shroud Spores at the Alchemist.
- Best Early Location: Any Shroud-infested area.
- Strategy: Enter the Shroud (ensure you have enough time on your timer!). Defeat Shroud enemies, particularly the larger, more elite ones. Loot Shroud Chests.
- Shroud Spores:
- Source: Dropped by almost all Shroud enemies.
- Best Early Location: Any Shroud-infested area.
- Strategy: Farm any Shroud area. The Shroud near the Cinder Vault or the Shroud east of Braelyn Bridge are good starting points. Prioritize killing groups of enemies.
Mid-Game Resources (Revelwood & Low Meadows)
Copper Ore & Tin Ore
Crucial for crafting advanced tools, weapons, and armor.
- Copper Ore:
- Source: Distinctive reddish-brown ore veins found in rocky areas.
- Best Location:
- Revelwood Ancient Spire Region: The cliffs and caves surrounding the Revelwood Ancient Spire are incredibly rich in copper. Look for veins along the cliff faces and inside small cave systems.
- Carpenters' Hill: Northeast of the Revelwood Ancient Spire, this area has several accessible copper veins.
- Diadwyn: The rocky areas around the Diadwyn settlement (north of Revelwood Spire) also contain copper.
- Strategy: Bring a sturdy pickaxe. These veins are often guarded by enemies. Clear the area, then mine thoroughly. Copper respawns reliably after a few in-game days.
- Tin Ore:
- Source: Distinctive silvery-grey ore veins, often found in caves or deeper rock formations.
- Best Location:
- Low Meadows Shroud: The Shroud-infested caves and rocky outcrops in the Low Meadows region (west of Revelwood) are the primary source of Tin.
- Kindlewastes Border: As you approach the Kindlewastes from Revelwood, some transition areas might have tin.
- Strategy: Tin is often found in more dangerous, Shroud-heavy areas. Prepare for combat and bring a good pickaxe.
Iron Ore
A significant upgrade for tools, weapons, and armor, leading into late-game crafting.
- Source: Dark grey, metallic ore veins. Often found in deeper caves or specific mountain ranges.
- Best Location:
- Pillar of Creation (Revelwood): The massive rock formations and caves around the Pillar of Creation (northwest of Revelwood Spire) are excellent for Iron. This area is often heavily guarded.
- Sunken Temple (Revelwood): The caves leading to and surrounding the Sunken Temple contain significant Iron deposits.
- Ancient Spires (various): Check the base and surrounding cliffs of other Ancient Spires as you unlock them; many have Iron.
- Strategy: Iron mining often involves navigating dangerous terrain and fighting stronger enemies. Ensure your gear is up to par. Consider bringing a companion for assistance.
Amber
Used in various magical and advanced crafting recipes.
- Source: Glowing, yellowish-orange crystalline formations.
- Best Location:
- Revelwood Shroud Areas: Amber is primarily found within the Shroud in the Revelwood region. Look for it embedded in the walls of Shroud caves or on elevated Shroud-covered terrain.
- Ancient Spire (Revelwood) Shroud: The Shroud areas around the Revelwood Ancient Spire are a good starting point.
- Strategy: Amber is often in hard-to-reach or dangerous Shroud zones. A good pickaxe and Shroud resistance are essential.
Late-Game Resources (Kindlewastes & Nomad Highlands)
Mythril Ore & Orichalcum Ore
The pinnacle of metallic resources for the best gear.

Farming Strategies & Tips
- Upgrade Your Tools: Always use the highest tier pickaxe and axe you can craft. This significantly speeds up gathering and increases yield.
- Flame Altar Placement: Strategically place Flame Altars near rich resource nodes. This allows for quick travel, respawn points, and safe storage.
- Map Markers: Use custom map markers to denote prime farming spots for specific resources. This is invaluable for efficient return trips.
- Clear the Area: Before mining or chopping, clear out any nearby enemies. This prevents interruptions and damage.
- Resource Run Routes: Plan efficient routes that hit multiple resource nodes in a single run. For example, a route that combines wood, stone, and a specific ore.
- Shrouded Resource Runs: When farming in the Shroud, prioritize speed and efficiency. Know your exit route and keep an eye on your Shroud timer. Bring Shroud survival consumables.
- Companions: The Alchemist and Blacksmith can process raw materials into refined ingots or other components, saving you time. Ensure they are placed in your base.
- Food & Buffs: Consume food that boosts stamina or gathering efficiency before a major farming run.
- Inventory Management: Plan your inventory space. Leave room for the specific resources you intend to gather. Consider crafting chests at your base for storage.
- Respawn Mechanics: If a node isn't respawning, try leaving the area completely (teleport to another region or your main base) and then returning. Sometimes, simply logging out and back in can force a respawn.
