Exploration is a lucrative and engaging activity for solo players. It involves scanning down cosmic signatures (wormholes, data sites, relic sites) using a probe launcher and combat probes. Once a site is located, you'll use a 'Data Analyzer' or 'Relic Analyzer' module to hack mini-games, revealing valuable loot. A dedicated exploration frigate like the Heron, Magnate, or Imicus is ideal, fitted with cloaking devices and warp core stabilizers. Be cautious in low-security and null-security space, as these sites are often contested.
